Lost in the hills, Chichicastenango is a very touristic town due to its beautiful Indian market (on Thursdays and Sundays), one of the most beautiful markets in the country for its abundance of traditional clothes and different products. Populated by Quiché Indians, this city hosts the most important Pagan place of worship, Santo Tomas Church.
