The diversity of the climate is great: hot and humid on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts and in the Peten plains, with high temperatures in the summer that can reach 36°C. However, in the High-Plateaux (Altiplano) the climate is mild with varying temperatures during the year which range between 20°C and 25°C, with cooler nights due to the altitude. Since the big cities are up high, plan to bring warm clothes, especially for the evenings and cold nights. The rain season extends from May to October, which means that the best period to come is during the dry season: from November to April. This is the time of year when the humidity is not so intense.
