Although not a particularly nice or pleasant city, Guatemala Ciudad disposes of some interesting museums that you must see if you are stopping in the capital. Well-known for its nice collection of jade from the Mayan tombs, the archaeological museum shows religious objects, steles, ceramics, mortuary masks and remains found on the various sites. Ixchel Museum is dedicated to traditional Indian clothes.
