Peten plain, in the north of the country, is an immense tropical plain covered with a luxuriant forest and crossed by rivers and lakes. It is here that you find the National Park of Tikal, which has extraordinary vegetation and the famous Mayan ruins. It is the only site in the world to be marked on the Unesco cultural and natural world heritage list!
