Hattes beach, by Awala and Yalimapo (two American Indian Galibi villages, west of Guiana) is the first site in the world for luth turtle reproduction. The shell of a luth turtle measures 5.2 ft on average, and, since they eat about ten jellyfish per day, they can sometimes exceed 1,320 lb. They lay eggs from December to September.
