Get up, stand up! Welcome to the land of Bob Marley, king of Reggae and of the fight for the dignity of Blacks. The country vibrates to the sound of his messages of humanity, peace and spirituality. One pictures the Jamaicans with their Rasta bonnets... and of course, the idea is no myth, but a living truth. Many still practise the Rasta religion.
"Yeah Man, no problem Man", can be heard throughout the island from the small streets of Kingston to the Negril beaches, in Port Antonio bay or in the hinterlands. Jamaicans are cool!!! And do not actually have the dangerous character people attribute to them. Do not confer any credibility to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that claims you should not leave the hotels for fear of being mugged. Easyvoyage travelled to Jamaica and visited the whole island. We did not encounter any problem!!! However, it is unwise to venture into the dangerous neighbourhoods of Kingston, such as Downtown.
Jamaica is a wonderful country that is worth visiting, and offers countless wild and sumptuous sceneries, especially in Port Antonio bay, bordered with creeks and cliffs. It is also a lush and green land surrounded by hills. The country of green, yellow and red huts. A land where fiction blends with reality, land of the Blue Lagoon, Goldeneye...
