The plato tipico (typical dish), offered in all restaurants in Honduras, is made of beans, rice, tortillas (corn flat bread), fried bananas, potatoes and cheese. On the cost, fish is excellent and very cheap. It is often served as seafood is, with a snail soup composed of coconut. Sunday is the day of mondongo soup (tripes). Tropical fruit juices, composed of milk or sugary water are excellent. The best brands of rum are Ron Flor de Caná, Ron Plata and Yuscarán.
