RestThe Alfamar features space. Here, you breathe, inside as well as outside. Outdoors, the institution has unbelievable sport amenities from soccer fields to athletics track. No nearby beach and poor entertainment.

The Alfamar is located 22 miles away west of Faro international airport (half hour by car). To reach it, take National Road EN 125 towards Albufeira. At Albufeira crossroad ( BP gas station on the right), turn left. Go straight on in Albufeira, towards Olhos d'Agua, then follow the "Falesia Beach" sign. Turn left at "LTI-Alfamar". The hotel is not far from Praia da Falesia beach.
The Alfamar has an impressive sport property including 17 tennis courts, two soccer fields, a stadium with athletics track and a jogging trail. However, the entertainement is very light and only available in summer, organized by a unique supervisor.
The Alfamar has another hotel residence in front of it, which you must pass to access the hotel. To avoid the monumental hall echo, request a room located in one of the two lateral buildings, away from the reception.
The Alfamar welcomes mostly English and German guests and was acquired by the LTI German group in 1999.
The impressive Alfamar hotel (6 and 7 floors) has 264 rooms and suites housed in a main block and two attached wings. It was built in 1978 and renovated in 2002. The central building has a huge patio reception on which some of the units are overlooking. It is decorated in the 80's style but the whole setting is luminous and the furniture compensates for the impersonal side ( large rattan or bottle green leather armchairs, tiled mosaics, azulejos). The outside is more attractive : there is a large garden with a beautiful lawn, a maritime pine forest, a very large swimming pool with a canopy and sufficient deckchairs and sunshades.
246 double rooms (32 m² each), six junior suites (47 m² each) and twelve suites (50 m² each). Accommodations are comfortable, simple but with good taste. Bright new furniture ( the last renovation dates to 2002), functional lighting, central air conditioning (adjustable), direct international telephone, television (twenty channels) and safe. No minibar. A small balcony overlooks the garden and/or the pool. The bright bathroom has a bathtub, a hair dryer and the toilet room is separate in 172 rooms. Light choice of welcome products.
The hotel has a large main restaurant, the "Boa Vista", in a room with columns, air conditioning and neon lights ( in the evening ). It overlooks the park. Very bright during the day because of several baywindows. It has an international and Portuguese buffet without much originality ( choice of 4 or 5 meat dishes, fish, green vegetables and desserts : fried squid, frozen French fries, a la bolognaise pastas, sagged tiramisu...). Another restaurant, the "Caravela" has self-service during the day, grill in the evening. A piano bar in the main building ( a little somber) and a more convivial bar two steps away from the swimming pool. Last option : a tapas bar, the "Bodega" at the hotel residence entrance.
Praia da Falesia public beach is accessible by foot on a sand track between a gorge of cliffs. Expect five minutes to get there. The hotel has a little concession on the beach where you can rent deckchairs and sunshades. The setting is fine : There is a lot of space, clear sand and beautiful ochre cliffs. Small nautical base for sports people.
