Hotel Montechoro

The Montechoro is in the heart of a lively center with the same name and near a theme park. It is 2 miles away from Albufeira, 750 m away from da Oura beach and 20 miles west of the airport. You won't have any problem to find it, given its imposing size.

The Montechoro is part of a large complex which also includes a club with apartments and a beach club.
The hotel has the highest terrace (open to the public) of the city. The view of the region is breathtaking.

The Montechoro hotel is a white 10-floor building which opened its doors in 1984. It has 40 suites, 322 rooms and can accomodate 1000 people. From the outside, the Montechoro is not especially attractive : a white, massive structure with not very original architecture and a swimming pool which needs some renovation. Fortunately the inside is more pleasant : the Moroccan decoration, spacious common areas and a large terrace on the roof.

The rooms have all the necessary equipment : individual air conditioning, satellite television ( 16 channels), direct international telephone, safe (for a fee), Internet connection, a balcony with plastic garden furniture and a bathroom equipped with a bathtub and hair dryer.
Carpet, bedding and curtains have orange shades but the colors look a little wilted. The decoration is simple. A pretty wall lamp greets you at the entrance of the room. The access corridors are particularly large.

The restaurant room is totally in white and has a ceiling with several archways. On the opposite wall, a large painting with bright colors enhances the whole picture. Baywindows overlook the swimming pool. The buffet offers very fine Portuguese and international food . Barbecue night once a week around the swimming pool.
Do not miss the 10th floor panoramic bar and the very pleasant piano-bar (the Almohade) located on the hotel's ground floor, decorated in a Moroccan style with sofa, cushions and coffee tables. Entertainment every night.

The nearest beach is Oura,  750 m away from the hotel.
