Hotel Sheraton Algarve Pine Cliffs

The Pine Cliffs is located at Albufeira 22 miles west of Faro international airport (a half hour by car). To go there, take National road EN 125 towards Albufeira until a crossroad (BP gas station on the right). Then turn left to enter Albufeira. Go straight towards Olhos d'Agua, then follow the "Falesia Beach" sign. Turn left at sign " Sheraton Pine Cliffs ".

The Pine Cliffs has a well-known 9 hole golf course. The number 9 hole "Devils Parlour" is known to be very difficult. To reach it, you have to send the ball over the cliff. Families can book a two or three room apartment adjoining the Pine Cliffs Vacation Club.

The Sheraton Pine Cliffs has several two floor white buildings in an eastern mudejar style. All have view on the gorgeous park planted with maritime pines and whose lawn is as worthy of appreciation as the nine-hole golf course encircling the property. The reception in the form of a large white patio with moucharabieh windows extending to a large tiled patio with yellow and blue azulejos, is surrounded by a gallery leading to restaurants, shops and the garden. The whole setting is spacious with pleasant fountains and two beautiful outdoor swimming pools. At the Pine cliffs, there is room to breathe and to take the air.

The 215 rooms, 34 m² for "Classic", 56 m² for duplex suites, can accommodate up to three people. They are comfortable and perfectly equipped (central air conditioning with thermostat, satellite television with 29 channels, extra domestic channel broadcasting 4 movies per day, a large electronic lock safe, a telephone with direct key access dial to reception, room-service and dry cleaning, full minibar, bathroom with welcome products, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer and separate toilets). The head of the bed is tiled with azulejos, but the very international standard impersonal furniture is disappointing. Large terrace with table and armchairs.

Three thematic restaurants (Portuguese, Moroccan and seafood specialities), a main restaurant that serves buffet-style international cuisine and four bars. The evening buffet is also thematic : Algarvian, Spanish, Italian dishes. It is weighty and dishes are superbly presented. You could also say the same thing for the breakfast buffet which has diverse choices of delicious cakes and homemade croissants, fresh fruit salads, fruit juice, and omelets prepared on request. As for bars, remember "the Mirador" on the terrace overlooking the cliff facing the Atlantic. There are two other bars, only open from May to October.

Across from the hotel, surrounded by ochre cliffs, the splendid beach, 600 m long, is pleasantly equipped with deckchairs and sunshades, and, in the high season, a snack bar. Its crescent shaped configuration makes the place difficult to access and therefore reserved almost exclusively for hotel clients. A little marine base (activities are charged extra) is open from April to October. Some will find access a little bit long by elevator and a staircase that passes through a kind of canyon, covered with sand. But how beautiful it is !
