Hotel Pestana Delfim

The Pesatana Delfim is in Alvor, 4 miles away from Portimao, approximately 37 miles away west of Faro international airport (1h by car). Once in the city, pass the aerodrome (on the right), keep on following billboards indicating the hotel, turn right before the pedestrian bridge and keep straight. The institution is high on the right in the hotel area.

The rooms 306, 307, 315, 314, 414 and 514 have a partial view of the car park area, are smaller (17 m²) than the others and have no balcony.
There is no real nautical base on the "Trois Freres" beach. To do jet ski, parasailing, banana, sailing, kayak, pedalo or water ski, you have to go to Praia da Rocha beach, a dozen miles away.

These two large, "V" shaped, 13 floor towers are not very attractive but at least the view on the surroundings and the Atlantic is absolutely clear ! The inside is bright, the common areas comfortable and the decoration joyful. The rooms are green, red, blue, and there is brand new furniture. Outside, the large garden planted with maritime pines has a long , well maintained lawn where deckchairs are harmoniously placed around the large round swimming pool and its central bar. Two other bars, two restaurants, a fitness room and a beauty salon offering diverse cares and massages complete the services.

All 312 units (including 13 suites) were totally renovated in 2000. Double rooms have an appropriate size (24.50 m²) and a small balcony with a table and chairs for 80% of the rooms overlooking the Atlantic. The others, without balcony, have a garden view. Plain wood furniture, red and yellow tones, the whole setting is clean. They are equipped with satellite television ( 21 channels, extra television channels and the possibility to rent video games), individual air conditioning, safe (14 € a week), direct international telephone. The bathrooms have bathtub, two washbasins, hair dryers, and sufficient welcome products. Minibar in suites. Beach towels are available.

Breakfasts and dinners are served buffet-style at "the Atlantic Gardens", the main restaurant, which has large baywindows overlooking the swimming pool. Farther along, the "Tulcano Bistro", which is also a bar, serves breakfasts and a la carte dinners in a setting like a ...bistro (about 10 euro a dish) and snacks until 15:00. It is here that concerts and shows (magic, folklore) are presented every night. The "Sunset Bar" becomes a piano-bar two times a week. The swimming pool bar is open from April to October. The cuisine is international and not really imaginative. There is a choice of 3 to 4 buffet dishes (turkey medallions, ham and melon, fresh salmon). 21 € the formula). An appropriate list of Portuguese wines.

The monitored " Três Irmãos " (the Three Brothers) beach is a 10 minute walk away on a path . It is monitored and almost 2 miles in length ( for jogging), has a beautiful width and clean sand (for lazing) together with a line of cliffs to the east ( for walks). Here you will have lots of room, clear water and some pedalos to warm up legs. For water sport, you have to go to Portimao beach.
