This building which might date back to 1400 is a former convent. Its was used for many purposes until 1808 when it became the Amsterdam City Hall until 1991. This hotel is a genuine museum and even houses a chapel where weddings are celebrated, the former boardroom of the city hall and its woodworks, art works offered by heads of states, etc. The hotel offers such an architectural, historical, and artistic interest that during 2007 heritage days, visits were organized and attracted thousands of visitors.
And to end on a high note, the hotel has a pool and a sauna, ideal to relax after a long walking day.
