NatureThe Pestana Angra Beach is hidden in the midst of lush vegetation overlooking Angra Dos Reis bay. Its charming bungalow accommodation is spread out over a large tropical park. Peace reigns over this establishment without organised entertainment but where you can take advantage of many water sports activities. The premises are in perfect harmony with nature, while the high class cuisine provides the cherry on the cake.

The establishment is located at the foot of luxuriant, forest-covered mountains overlooking Angra dos Reis bay, 7 mi from the town of Angra, and some 93 mi southwest of Rio. Allow two and a half hours for airport transfers.
The hillside location is not suited for people with reduced mobility, and none of the rooms are equipped with special facilities. Wifi access is available throughout the hotel, free of charge, and there is a computer with Internet access in the library, which also boasts views of the sea. There is a games room next to this with a television, a pool table, and a chessboard, among many others. The 2 meeting rooms can seat up to 120 people.
Behind a beach with pink granite rocks that bring Seychelles to mind, the tropical forest-covered mountain drops down into a bay that is dotted with islands. Marmosets and traveller's trees add to the decor around the 27 bungalows of the Angra Beach, which is a member of the Portuguese hotel chain Pestana Group. Just like the bar and restaurant, the spa overlooks the beach. It contains a Vichy shower, a hydromassage bath, a relaxation area, and 2 massage rooms where L'Occitane products are used. Under the shade of an open air palapa, you will be lulled by the soothing sound of the waves and birdsong, and may even hear monkeys screeching from time to time.
The Pestana Angra Beach Bungalows was built in 2000 and renovated in 2008. The heart-shaped swimming pool is open 24 hours a day and there is also a pool for children. The solarium terrace is surrounded by verdant vegetation where birds sing happily away, and also offers beautiful panoramic views over the splendid Angra dos Reis bay and its countless islands. This space is furnished with wooden deckchairs and cushions, and showers are available for the use of guests. Towels are also provided here.
The 27 charming bungalows are nestled in an ocean of greenery. Quite spacious (60m²) and fitted with tiled floors, they are decorated in an attractive manner (with coloured Indian fabrics) and well equipped: an LCD flat screen satellite television (23 channels), a DVD player with a selection of films, a free digital code safe (in the bathroom), individual air conditioning combined with a ceiling fan, a mini bar, a direct phone line, and free Wifi and ADSL Internet access. The furnished wooden terrace offers a panoramic view of Angra dos Reis bay below. The room itself is also furnished with a king size bed, a wicker table, and two chairs. The amenities in the large bathroom include: a big tropical shower, a bathrobe, slippers, a hair dryer, Kur hospitality products, tissues, a magnifying mirror, and the safe. The toilet is in a separate room, where there is also a telephone. Room service is available 24 hours a day. The 10 Deluxe suites have the added bonus of a private sauna and hydromassage bath on the veranda.
This is one of the strong points of the Pestana Angra Beach Bungalow, as the quality of the food on offer is fantastic! The à la carte restaurant is run by a Brazilian chef and serves up excellent Brazilian and Portuguese cuisine. Needless to say, the local dishes are highly recommended! For example, try the coconut water served fresh from the coconut, the fresh fish, the delicious picanha cut of meat and, for dessert, quindim, a real treat! Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:30am, lunch from 12:00pm to 4:30pm, and dinner from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. The airy dining room has wooden walls and a straw roof, and extends out onto a terrace overlooking the beach. Meals can therefore be enjoyed to the relaxing sound of breaking waves and a splendid view of Angra dos Reis bay.
The perfect little beach boasts a heavenly backdrop of mountains, luxuriant forests, and pink granite rocks worthy of Seychelles! The crystal clear water is begging to be bathed in and afterwards you can relax on a wooden deckchair under the shade of a white fabric parasol delicately positioned on a little pink granite rock surrounded by water. You'll think you're dreaming! In the bay, you can admire the many islands and islets making up the Angra dos Reis archipelago. The activities on offer here include water skiing, kayaking, sailing and snorkelling. If you feel less energetic, you can enjoy a massage under the shade of a palapa. The bar restaurant overlooks the private beach, which is monitored and has showers and taps to rinse the sea water off your feet. Boat outings depart from a private wooden pontoon.
