Animated but without excess, spacious but friendly, the Paladien Marina successfully offers dynamic vacations in a very welcoming setting. A place to be immediately tested because of the reasonable rates.
This hotel review is a translation from the French, published on our French site, Easyvoyage.com.
On the oceanfront, in la Raie cove ( close to the Paradise Cove) and 3 miles away from Grand-Baie. To reach the hotel from the airport ( located 37 miles away), you will need a 1 hour drive.
Here you will find a nice club atmosphere ( music aquagym, games and dancing shows ). Those wishing to rest can choose this place : you are not obliged to take part in the activities.
Built in 1990, renovated in 1999 and become Paladien in 2006, the Marina has pastel colors ( green and orange), a lobby with rattan furniture and with a teak framework overlooked by a thatched roof. It includes 122 rooms scattered in 2-level villas facing the sea or away from it, facing the swimming pool. The pool is pretty big (380 m²). It includes one area for kids and a jacuzzi. A solarium space has been fitted out and alleyways edged by lawns and flowerbeds allow you to go to your room without going through the reception area.
The rooms are simply furnished with teak and they are decorated in green and orange, like the rest of the hotel. 80% of the rooms have a sea view, the others overlook the garden or the pool. They are equipped with a balcony, a mini-bar, air-conditioning, telephone and TV. The bathrooms have a hair-dryer and a shower or a bathtub ( 26 of the rooms ).
Large, airy, the main restaurant opens widely on the swimming pool. It is fitted out with small tables with bright colored chairs. Here you can have breakfast and dinner served buffet-style. There are tropical fruits, omelettes and Viennese pastries in the morning. In the evening, you can eat Creole cuisine or an international cuisine with various flavours. For lunch, salads and grillings are served at the edge of the swimming pool. The ''all inclusive'' formula includes local drinks during and after meals, as well as pancakes and pastries in the afternoon.
The Marina is located along 3 coves, but only one of them is reserved for swimming. Stretching out on one hundred metres, it has a ''Robinson'' character. Those that are not frightened by a few seaweeds and rocks will like it. As for water sports, the hotel offers ski, windsurfing, pedal boat and kayaking. For extra charges, you can take a ride to the sea, you can do diving or game fishing.
