Well locatedPart of the well-known budget chain Best Western, the Astoria is a simple three-star hotel with standardised accommodation in the heart of Juan-les-Pins. Attracting a mix of French, foreign and business guests, while the hotel cannot count any fancy details or leisure facilities it does boast an excellent location.
A couple of blocks back from the beach at Juan-les-Pins, the Astoria is also easy walking distance to the town's concentration of bars, restaurants and shops. Public transport is not far either; with the bus stop and train station 50m away (the town centre of Antibes is reached in a few minutes).
Unlike most other hotels in the region, the Best Western Astoria is open all year round.
The hotel was constructed in the 1960's and its architecture is evidence of this, while its last renovation was in 2009. There are 49 rooms found throughout six floors and this is the bulk of the hotel as there are no leisure facilities on-site. On the ground floor next to the lobby, guests will find the breakfast room (see Food and Drink) which overlooks the street. WIFI connection is complimentary throughout the entire hotel however private parking is charged at 15 euros (£13.20) per day.
The 49 rooms at the Best Western Astoria fall into one category only as they are all the same size, with the same décor and equipment (twin or double capacity, triple rooms are not available). Somewhat on the small size, the rooms are functional and comfortable more than anything else, with simple furnishings and classic decoration. Each bathroom is fitted with a proper bathtub (and not just shower cubicle) which is rare in three-star hotels. All rooms also boast a small balcony, and some will be lucky enough to glimpse the sea, only a stone's throw away. While there is no mini-bar, a courtesy platter of tea and coffee is provided in every room. It should also be noted that windows are double-glazed to block out noise.
There is no restaurant at the Best Western Astoria however breakfast is served daily in the breakfast room on the ground floor. A long, well-lit room, it is decorated in the Provencal colours of blue and orange, and features a central buffet station. A large window overlooks the busy Avenue du Maréchal Joffre and allows for lots of natural light. Breakfast is a hot and cold continental buffet that is available from 7:00am until 10:30am. Guests may also opt for room service at breakfast time.
