Hotel Asterias Beach

Located on the Makronissos peninsula, on the south-eastern coast of Cyprus, the hotel is located in retreat of the main road connecting the tourist resort to Larnaca. About 3 miles away from the picturesque centre of Ayia Napa and 24 miles away from Larnaca international airport.

The Asterias opens its doors from April to the 10th of November every year. Without a doubt, the hotel can boast about having one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern Cyprus. An animation team of 8 seasoned animators speak English, German, Italian and French and organize sportive and festive activities on a daily basis. Different artists are also invited to present magic, music, folk dances (Greek and Cypriot) shows... Every evening, the hotel organises different shows in the bar's veranda. The conference rooms host weddings, meetings, special evenings, seminars... The hotel's clients are usually individuals and mainly German, then English, Swiss and French, but also Cypriot. The Hadjisoteriou family, which has been in the hotel industry since 1971, is at the head of the Asterias, built in 1983. Located in a peaceful hotel area, the hotelier complex spreads on 750,000 square feet, and faces the sea. Renovated yearly, this 4-storey air-conditioned hotel has a lot of marble, from the large reception area to the bathrooms. Take notice of the items and statues that are displayed in the common areas. Amateurs will love it! Specially those in the large lounge room with the TV, even though the showcases are cluterred. A large and beautiful outdoor pool will delight everybody, plus another one beside it, dedicated for kids. Deckchairs and sunshades are spread around it. A third pool - very bright - is covered. Here you will find the fitness centre with a gym (tiled floors), jacuzzi, sauna... The spaces dedicated to games are numerous: a large room with a pleasant setting, a billiard table, two ping-pong tables, an outdoor covered area with video games, a playground on the lawn with colourful facilities and a nice kids club.

The hotel is worthy of international standards with its large and clean rooms. Pictures, furnished balcony, mirrors, lamps: the care put into the harmonious decor is apparent. The Asterias offers 199 rooms, each of about 210 square feet, with comfortable twin beds, plus a small suite. Some double rooms can easily house up to four people thanks to multilevel beds. Different views are offered: frontal or lateral of the sea, or even of the garden. All of them are pleasant! All rooms offer all sorts of comfort: a large TV (20 channels), radio, a mini-bar ( empty), air-conditioning, direct telephone line, a safe (paying), an incorporate ironing board, a hair-dryer. The bathrooms, equipped with an incorporate vanity unit with a marble sink, have a bathtub with a shower, beach towels, razor outlet and welcome products.

An Anglo-Saxon breakfast buffet is served from 7.00am to 10.00am on the sundeck of the main restaurant facing the pool, lunch from 1.00pm to 2.30pm and dinner from 7.00pm to 9.30pm. The ''Famagousta'' offers a neat setting - all in red and white - and an elegant and classical atmosphere in the evening. Grills, snacks and other specialities are served at noon. A varied evening buffet with different daily themes (over a period of 15 days) or an à la carte menu. In addition, the main indoor bar offers a large choice of cocktails. The circular counter assures good service. The outdoor ''Golden Sands'' bar/snack of the pool and the beach, offers light meals and drinks.

A light sandy beach is right in the front of the hotel. This type of beach is a rare thing in the south of Cyprus. There are lots of deckchairs with matresses and sunshades. Awarded a blue flag, proof of cleanness, the beach is populated by the hotel's guests as locals prefer to go to Nissi beach where there are many activities. Ideal for families, the beach is quiet, supervised and equipped with showers, water sports clubs and restaurants. Only a few seaweeds spoil the clarity of the water.
