Hotel Laguna beach resort

By Bang Tao beach, on the west coast of Phuket and just at the end of a vast artificial lagoon created here during the 80s on the site of an ancient tin mine. Phuket Town and Patong is 19 miles away, on the west coast, and the airport is 13 miles north, which is around 30 minutes by car.

The Laguna Beach Resort is part of a complex of 988 acres including four other hotels of the lagoon area (Dusit Laguna, Allamanda Laguna Phuket, Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, Banyan Tree) belonging to the same owner: the equipment, services and facilities of each one are accessible to the guests of the other four hotels. A free shuttle serves the five establishment, and especially the 18-hole golf course, all day.

Organised activites.
The hotel offers organised activities all day long. A sport programme from 6am to 8pm (squash, football, aquagym...) and massages at the spa. Children from 4 to 12 years old are invited to the club dedicated to them open from 9am to 9pm. In the evening, the management opted for calm organised activites in order to preseve the tranquillity of its guests. However, theme evenings and live music concerts are organised regularly.

The Laguna Beach is a big classic infrastructure harmoniously built opposite the lagoon and the sea. Water is omnipresent from wherever you are in the hotel, of course that of the lagoon, but also that of the sea and the swimming pool. The living spaces are spacious and open towards the outside; the restaurants are on stilts and end on the lagoon. The fancy decoration of the many rooms makes the place welcoming and comfortable. The solarium of the swimming pool, a bit small, extends up to the beach.

The 252 rooms of the Laguna are spacious and comfortable. The decoration is fancy there: atmosphere, tiles on the floor, wooden furniture and blue and yellow colours. The rooms overlook either the lagoon or the swimming pool. The small sitting area is situated on a small platform surounded by bay windows allowing to take advantage of the view. They dispose of bathrobes, satellite TV (with pay per view film channels), sandals, filled minibar, free mineral water and safe. The bathrooms are spacious, with tiles, and benefit from a big shower/bathtub embedded in the floor. There you will find welcome products and hairdryer.

3 restaurants within the Laguna Beach Resort are available. Breakfast is served either in the main restaurant on the lower level of the hotel, the cafe Loma, where the buffet becomes lunch till 2pm, or at the Rimtalay, opposite the lagoon (high season), which offers a Thai dinner from 6pm to 10pm. The Andaman pool restaurant is situated by the swimming pool and offers snacks from 11am till late evening. Small stalls on the beach sell fish and seafood with a good value for money.

The beach is long and very beautiful. Fine sand and turquoise blue water... However, children's swimming needs to be supervised, as the waves can be very dangerous.
