Hotel Abba Rambla

In Rambla del Raval, a pleasurable site located close to the famous Ramblas, in the heart of Barcelone, in the popular neighbourhood of Barrio Chino, not far from the grand Liceu Theater and Boqueria market. The closest subway stations are Liceu, Parallel and Saint Antoni. The Barcelona airport is located 9 miles away, a 25 minute drive to the hotel.

Located not far from the famous Ramblas Avenue as its name denotes, the Abba Rambla does not have a restaurant, but the popular neighbourhood of Barrio Chino has several much cheaper small restaurants than the nearby tourist Avenue of Ramblas. A parking lot is provided for 15 pounds a day.

A member of the Spanish Abba hotel group, Abba Rambla offers 49 rooms spread out in a 4-storey recently built structure with a yellow facade and served by a rather slow elevator. Open throughout the year, the hotel has a full accommodation capacity of 98 clients. Built in 2005, Abba Rambla offers a limited number of facilities and has no restaurant. However, it offers an elegantly designed room for breakfast, also serving as bar and television room with a large plasma screen.

Fitted out with a lovely light-brown straight-grained wooden floor, Abba Rambla rooms are simple but quite spacious and very properly laid out. Equipment include a flat screen satellite television (41 channels), two separate beds topped by a beautiful painting, office desk, free electronically-coded safe, not-free mini-bar, individual airconditioning, a direct international phone line, and not-free Wifi Internet access. Windows are fitted with double glazing dressed with three curtains to sleep away from light and noise. The bathroom is well decorated and immaculate, with a bathtub fitted with a handle and flexible shower, integrated toilet, bidet, telephone, magnifying mirror, hair dryer and multiple range of toiletries: tissue, sponge, dental set, after shave, and even cologne water!

There is no catering service at Abba Rambla as in most Barcelona hotels, for there are many restaurants throughout the city. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:30 AM (till 11:00 on week-ends) in the elegant lobby hall, also fitted with a large plasma television screen. You can have breakfast in three different settings depending on whether you decide to sit on the high bar chairs, low sitting lounge chairs or on more standard restaurant-like chairs. The Abba Rambla bar offers various cocktails from 10:30 AM to midnight.
