Hotel Husa Oriente

Ideally located directly on the famous Ramblas opposite the Real and la Calle Ferran square that leads to the Gothic neighbourhood close to the Palau Güell de Gaudi, the Liceu theatre and the Boqueria market a few steps away from the Liceu subway. The Barcelona airport is situated 9 miles away, a 25 minute drive to the hotel.

Set up in a former convent, the Oriente is the oldest hotel in Barcelona and enjoys one of the most ideal locations in the city on Ramblas between the Gothic neighbourhood and the sea!!! It is said that an underground passage leads to the Monjuic hill and was used for secret meetings under Franco, but we have not yet found it!!! Lodging tips: The rooms overlooking the Ramblas offer a permanent view, though they are the noisiest. The others open up to a small and more quiet street. Their decoration is more modern with no paintings.

The rooms of the Oriente are properly equipped, well laid out and decorated with lovely paintings. Covered with wood flooring, they are equipped with two separate beds, a two-place davenport, an office desk, satellite TV (15 channels), a free electronically-coded safe, individual airconditioning, a mini-bar fridge and a telephone. The rooms of the side of the Ramblas have two small balconies, while the others are simply fitted with windows. A small bathroom contains a bathtub fitted with a flexible shower (or plain shower depending on the room), non-separate toilets, a hair dryer and hospitality products.

A member of the Spanish Husa group of hotels that equally owns the Avenida Palace at the Barcelona, the Oriente hotes possesses 142 rooms set up in a historic 4-storey building served by two elevators. Open throughout the year, the Oriente has a full accommodation capacity of 350 clients.

Breakfast is taken in the form of a buffet from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, while lunch and dinner are served on request from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM in a magnificient internal hall or directly on the patio on the Ramblas in the form of a snack and other grilled meat and fish. You can equally quench your thirst at the stylish bar close to the lobby, which carried a plasma TV screen.
