Hotel Palmar Beach Resort

On the oceanfront, on Belle Mare site, 9 miles away from Centre de Flacq. The airport is located 31 miles away from here, about 1 hour driving.

The Palmar Beach is ideal for family vacations on the beach without paying the prices of the great hotels. The amenities are all adapted : playground next to the beach, mini-club, double rooms  with sofa-beds and an additional bed.

The last renovation of the hotel dates back to 2005. Small structure, the Palmar lays out around a central garden that houses a swimming pool ( about 20 m long) and the solarium. A bar allows you to drink something right next to it. Teak deckchairs are lined on the edge of the swimming pool. No sea view, because the bar hides the lagoon, but the beach is just a few steps away. Next to the reception, you will find a small shop - decorated like in the hotel ( varnished wood, rattan and white walls to create a feeling of more space ). The rooms are spread out in maximum 2-level buildings, with cane roofs. 

Of the 70 accommodations, 28 are located on the oceanfront. They should be prefered for the panorama and the surface. These rooms of 48 m² ( against 38 m² for the standard rooms ) can accommodate up to 3 persons. They offer a sundeck or a balcony like the other rooms that overlook the swimming pool or the gardens. Rattan furniture, colorful patterns, white walls : the decoration - exotic without being excessive - invites you to relax. As for the amenities, you would like the tea/coffee kit to be used freely as many times as you want ( paying upon arrival ). The TV offers 3 Mauritian channels. There are telephone and mini-bar, as well as air-conditioning. The very simple bathroom is equipped with a shower.

The restaurant is located in a room overlooking the pool, with tables shaded by sunshades on the terrace. Buffets are served in the morning and in the evening. For breakfast, omelettes are cooked on request, in addition to cold meats, cheese, cereals and Viennese pastries. There is a different theme for dinner every day : fisherman, Creole, Chinese, Indian, Mediterranean... For lunch, you can eat at the small beach restaurant. Tables shaded by cane straw huts, sand under your feet and wide view of the lagoon. An ideal setting to try a salad, a dish of pastas or a grilling.

The beach is of a medium size ( it stretches out on one hundred metres ), but the fine sand is very nice. You can fully enjoy the peace of the place, protected from the sun and facing a clear water. As for the activities, nautical ski, free diving, windsurfing, kayaking, pedalo and canoe are practiced for free. You should expect an additional fee for bottle diving ( water sport centre of the Beau Rivage hotel located next to it ).
