Hotel Bleibtreu Berlin

Only a short distance from the Kurfürstendamm (ku'Damm to friends), the Bleibtreu hotel enjoys the proximity of the famous and lively avenue (shopping malls, bars, restaurants, entertainment, tourist attractions, etc.) but is withdrawn from the bustle, as it stands in a quiet street. There are several metro stations nearby: Adenauerplatz, Uhlandstraße, Savignyplatz and Spichernstraße, to mention but a few!

An original detail that is sure to interest couples (and especially women) staying at Bleibtreu: the hotel also includes a lovely flower shop! Another asset: every month a book is presented and sold at the reception desk. The author comes for a day's visit every month.

The main entrance is somewhat hidden in a small interior courtyard. This small terrace is an attraction in itself, with its pond of blue Chinese marbles, tables and concrete garden chairs, animal sculptures... You should make abundant use of the garden during the summer! In winter, however, seek refuge in the small entrance hall. A small waiting area is at your disposal to relax and admire the interior design: the tiling boasts specks of colours, a mosaic decorates the wall, there is a glass lift... There is no business centre here but the reception has a computer available to guests. There is no proper spa either. However, the relaxation area has nothing to be ashamed of. It has a cold water pool, Turkish baths, massage parlour, fitness centre and a rest area equipped with luminotherapy devices. Small but sturdy!

The Bleibtreu includes sixty rooms in total, as is standard in a boutique hotel! Several categories are available: single rooms (12 m²), standard rooms (15 m²) and superior rooms (20 m²), as well as two rooms for disabled guests. However, there are no suites in this hotel. Every floor and category has a different design, with the combination of colours changing in every guest room and bathroom. The global style stays the same though: simple with an almost childish side... For example, the TV set, safe, and mini bar (included in the price) are concealed in a rollaway TV chest! All the rooms have cable TV, Wi-Fi connection, a radio set and a small designer bathroom fitted with a shower, a hair-dryer and welcome toiletries. The lighting is remote controlled and can be set to your preference. Furthermore, there is a fax, a video player and a wireless phone to enable guests to work in optimal conditions. Perfect for mixing business and pleasure. You should know that none of the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning but some do have a balcony...

There is no danger of feeling crammed in the four establishments occupying the Bleibtreu: an all blue lounge, an Italian café and two restaurants. The first is a chic pub, and serves a buffet breakfast and lunch. The dishes are quite classic (hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and soup) and offered at a reasonable price: about 7,5 pounds. The second offers a "made in New York" interior and menu and includes a bar, high stools and an open kitchen. It serves hamburgers, fries, salad, bagels, sandwiches and also weekly German menus with dishes prepared right in front of your eyes, including meat balls and mash or sausages with sauerkraut. A large part of the products are organic (like the meat) and fresh, as witnessed in the fruit juice and the vegetables of the espresso bar.
