Hotel Palia Dolce Farniente

The Palia Dolce is located  in Es Forti, a residential neighbourhood in the seaside resort Cala d'Or, located 22 miles away from the Palma airport. About 40 minutes by car.

The animation that the hotel offers during the summer is organized by a team of 12 animators (10 people during the winter). Equipped with good sport fittings, the place is never boring! An outdoor flamenco show runs on Fridays. The mini-club welcomes children aged 4 to 10 or 12 years.

Built in 1970, renovated in 2005, the Dolce is a pleasant and welcoming club-hotel that offers clientele and staff that are 100 % French-speaking. Located in a residential neighbourhood of Cal D'Or, a hundred meters from downtown bars and restaurants, it consists of 11 small white bungalows with 2 or 3 floors, situated in luxuriant gardens away from the traffic. The life of the hotel is mainly concentrated around the large swimming pool, where you can find the restaurant, the stage for evening shows and day games and the snack-bar. A large  disco is available in the basement.

The 302 rooms of the Palia Dolce Farniente are very spacious ( more than 20 m²) and easy to access. They are clean and all were renovated in 2005. Double, triple or quadruple accommodations all have satellite TV, direct international telephone lines, a bathroom with bathtub and a quite large terrace. The decor is rustic Spanish, with a nice tiled floor. Our advice: stay away from the units located close to the pool if you want quiet nights.

The hotel restaurant is a huge room illuminated by large bay windows overlooking the pool and where the buffet tables are set up. The choice is as follows: a selection of twenty starters, around ten dishes, two fish dishes, two meat dishes and pastas. A cook grills meat in a "show-cooking" space. The cuisine is mainly international, of good quality. Too bad the tables are a little too close together, despite the spacious room.

The closest beach to the hotel is rather small compared with the surrounding population. The sand is fine and white, the water is clear. If you want to enjoy the numerous coves with turquoise waters that are found all along the seaside, take the bus (close to the hotel) or go by car. The Cala Mondrago bay is stunning with its translucent waters. Avoid the weekends , when Majorcans meet each other there. Classic nautical activities are offered here (pedalo, canoe, diving...)
