Hotel Las Arenas

Oceanfront located, close to downtown Can' Pastilla, a touristic town visited by a popular clientele, most of the times coming from Northern Europe, 6 miles away from Palma and 3 miles from the airport, about ten minutes driving by car or by bus.

The nocturnal animation (up 'till the midnight), even though it is funny and well done, but a little noisy. The clients of the rooms located on the first floor can suffer from this.

Offering a total of 205 rooms, spread out in a rectangular 5 floor building, the hotel Las Arenas is much bigger than it appears. Basically turned towards the beach, it offers a few leisure facilities, like billiards, ping-pong and there is a small pool in a yard, surrounded by nearby buildings. The bar and the gaming room overlooking the sea, are really nice, just like the evening atmosphere. Even though the hotel has recently been renovated, this still doesn't help the bad soundproofing and the tautness, due to its old-fashioned conception ( the hotel was built in 1959).

They are narrow, especially the single rooms, simple and furnished in a standard style, yet pretty warm. They are equipped with air-conditioning and telephone. An additional charge is required if you want to use the TV. As for the soundproofing, it needs some improvement. Some of the rooms also offer a great view of the sea.

The weakest point of the hotel: a dining room that looks more like a company cafeteria and a food that doesn't offer grilled foods or green vegetables. The buffets seem to be adapted for the numerous German clientele. The water, like the wine, are not complimentary and really expensive.

Located at the foot of a mountain, on the west side of the large beach of the Palma Bay offers clear water, and clean, fine sand. Public place and popular, it is really crowded in high season. All along the site, lots of private companies offer sunshades and matresses as well as nautical activities. You will also find lots of bars and restaurants. A quieter beach is located 500 m away.
