A vacation village in a spectacular natural area, the Pollina Valtur club is one of the best destinations in Sicily if you want to have a sporting sojourn on the verge of the sea. It is also recommended for those that want to have a lot of fun.

    location

Located in the Punta Raisi peninsula, 3 miles away from Cefalu. To reach the hotel from Palermo airport (located 65 miles away), allow 1 hour and 30 minutes.

    to know

The Pollina Valtur Club is located on a rocky spur, in a very nice natural area that gives out a fragrance of thyme, lavender and other scented plants of the scrubland. The wide area of the property allows you to stay away from others if you want. You can admire the sea views in your own private moments. However, you have to walk a lot (and climb shores ) to get to the restaurant, the disco or the beach. This establishment is recommended for young people (couples, groups of friends). Considering the structure and the facilities, the club does not allow kids under 12. But a teenagers-club for those aged 12 to 16 is available.

    overview 7 /10

A complex of a Mediterranean village appearance, the Pollina Valtur is composed of a succession of one-level buildings spread out on a hill that overlooks the sea. Whitewashed façades, blue blinds, walkways paved with terra cotta and edged by floral shrubs: the architecture is a real success and the distribution of leisure areas has been planned to guarantee comfort and privacy. Thus, the outdoors disco is located far from the rooms, at one edge of the property. So party people will not disturb those that prefer to sleep early. Adjacent to the main building housing the reception area, the pool is quite large (2,150 square feet). It overlooks a solarium equipped with deckchairs and sunshades. However, it is a pity that the amphiteatre and the façades of the main building hide the sea view. You get around this inconvenience by going to suntan on the lawn's sundecks that have been fitted out farther away, on the height of the cliffs: a beautiful view is guaranteed!

    accommodation 7 /10

Out of the 341 rooms, 44 overlook the sea, but usually partially because of the vegetation. If you want to enjoy the best point of view, ask for rooms 601, 602 or 603. As for rooms that are not directed towards the coast, they overlook the gardens or the hills. They have a small sundeck at ground level and a balcony on the first floor. Simple and sober, their decor is quite basic, painted in blue and white, like the rest of the complex. There is nothing negative to say about the facilities: air-conditioning, mini-bar, direct telephone line and satellite TV. Quite spacious, the bathrooms have a shower, a hair-dryer and welcome products.

    food and drink 6 /10

The Pollina Valtur offers a buffet restaurant and an outdoors pizzeria beside the disco. Large and bright, the buffet restaurant has tables that can seat six people each. The courses offered are nicely varied: mixed salads, pasta, meats and fish with sauce, cheese, fruit cakes, puff and donuts for dessert. You will be disappointed however that the taste of the food is not always refined. Another very nice option for the evening: the brick oven pizzas, served at the outdoors restaurant. You will devour them in a small courtyard planted with olive trees, a few steps away from the sea.

    beach 6.5 /10

The beach is not really the easiest place of the complex to access! You need to use the elevator to get down to the foot of the hill (a 490 feet difference in height), then you walk along a footpath for about 330 feet. Another more sportive option: the stairs on the slope. A health run of more than 1,640 feet! Once you are on the seaside, you are a little disappointed by the colour (black grey) and the texture (more rocks than flour) of the sand. So this is not the best place on the property for your leisure break. In return, you can swim with pleasure in the turquoise water. Water activity lovers will be happy to be able to do sailing, windsurfing, kayak and pedalo. Diving is available for an additional fee.
