Hotel Paradise Bay

By the seaside, near the wharf to Gozo ( Cirkewwa ), 3.7 miles away from Mellieha. The airport is 13.6 miles away. Allow 45 minutes for transfer.

The Paradise Bay is an excellent choice for a stay by the seaside. Its comfort, its two swimming pools and its beach rank it among the best hotels in its category. For golf amateurs, you must know that the establishment offers discounts on the green fees of the Royal Malta Golf Club ( located in Marsa, 12.4 miles away ). Finally, the hotel is located near the wharf to Gozo : ideal for an excursion without paying the high price of organized tours.

Built in 1974, the Paradise Bay is a vast semi-circular complex standing on the rocky coast, facing the sea. Forget the concrete façade to enjoy the spacious lobby, 2 large outdoor pools and an indoor pool, located under a glass roof. As for sports and activities, enjoy the tennis courts, play billiard or relax on the vast terrace overhanging the sea ( it could be more shaded and more flowery ). Sunshades, deckchairs and mattresses are available.

The 217 rooms are all turned towards the sea and have a balcony. They can accommodate 2 to 4 people depending on their size. Their furniture made of clear wood is simple and sober. Nothing to say about the amenities : air conditioning, satellite television, direct telephone line, bathroom with hairdryer, iron and ironing board, fridge, tea/coffee tray are available in all the rooms.

Breakfast is served as a buffet at the "Island Edge", a pleasant restaurant ( wooden tables and checked tablecloths ). Cereals, fruits, breads, scrambled eggs, sausages and beans in tomato sauce will titillate your nostrils in a pleasant manner. You can choose between the buffet ( very abundant choice of salads, hot dishes and desserts ) and an à la carte menu for the two other meals. Thus, you will have the chance to discover the refined setting of the "Ill-Merill". But you can also eat more quickly at the coffee shop, in a relaxing atmosphere.

The Paradise Bay is one of the rare hotels in Malta to have a beach. Its sand is not particularly fine and the cleaning is not that rigorous. You might fall on algae or cigarette butts ! Then use the beach to have a quick dip more than to relax on the deckchairs. However, the hotel has a diving school. Do not hesitate to take several lessons to enjoy the translucent Mediterranean waters.
