In the north-east of Fuerteventura, 3 miles south from downtown Corralejo, exactly on the beautiful beach of Corralejo. For transfers from the airport, located 22 miles south, count 30 minutes.

Member of the Riu Spanish chain, the Paladien Riu Oliva Beach Resort was renovated completely during summer in 2004. A promenade accross the park of the Corralejo dunes is held every Wednesday from 10:15 AM. Do you suffer from back pain? Don't panic! An osteopath will take care of you! The mini market is well practical so that you don't have to go into the city! The Riu Oliva Beach Resort is open all year round like the majority of the hotels in Fuerteventura that enjoy a favoured eternal spring climate.

Lodging advices:

All the rooms located in the main building offer a gorgeous view of the ocean and the Corralejo dunes. The bungalows overlook the pool, and sometimes the ride is too long to go to the restaurants and to the beach, but the luxuriant ambience is very nice. You are free to choose! Three rooms are fitted out for people with disabilities.

You can get a far-off glimpse of the silhouette of the Paladien Riu Oliva Beach, made of a large and high unattractive building, planted in the middle of a desert of dunes bordering the blue turquoise ocean. The 814 rooms of the hotel are divided between the clear sandy colour 7 floor complex, built in 1977, and bungalows of one or two storeys spread out in a large 376,600 feet² tropical garden. Between two heavenly baths in the beach of Corralejo dunes, you can have a quick bath in one of the two soft water pools of 3,228 feet² and 3,766 feet², heated in winter, open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, each one offering a snack bar. One is rectangular, 5 feet in depth, with ramp access for disabled people. The second, a little more animated, with a round shape and 5.57 feet in depth, with slight slope access like on the beach, houses an island and its palm tree. It is part of a very pleasant solarium space equipped with everything, with showers, changing rooms, sunshades, beach chairs, matresses and towels. Children are also offered 2 pools heated in winter with 19.5 inches depth.

The rooms of the Paladien Riu Oliva Beach Resort are shared out in 401 standard rooms located in the main 7 floor building and 413 bungalows connected with the large tropical garden which lays on a surface of 376,600 feet². Modern and well equipped, covered by carpet, the rooms include two separate beds, a round wood table embellished by an armchair, a desk, three paintings, a satellite TV (20 channels), a safe with free key, individual air-conditioning doubled by a ceiling fan, direct international telephone line, a refrigerator as well as a fitted out balcony equipped by a dry-line from where you can have an outstanding view of the park of Corralejo dunes. The bathroom, relatively small, includes a bathtub equipped by a handle door and a flexible shower, a bidet, non-separate toilets, welcome products, a hair-dryer and handkerchiefs.  The bungalows house one room and the bathroom; they are located on the first floor and are fitted out with a patio offering a view of the pool, they also offer a living room on the ground floor, including a round wood table equipped by three chairs, a lower wood table and two convertible sofas. The main building also houses the 12 suites of the hotel.

The Paladien Riu Oliva beach Resort has two buffet restaurants that offer a various local and international cuisine , with show cooking, and two à la carte restaurants serving Canarian and Asian specialities, by reservation only. Considering the serious number of rooms (814), the buffets are rather encumbered. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and dinner from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. You can take breakfast on a pleasant open patio, embellished by a fountain. Plus, each pool has its own bar serving snacks during the day. Between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, it's time for the gourmand break with tea and pastry for everybody. In the evening, you can taste your favorite cocktails in the Los Normandos salon bar and at the Betancuria pub bar.

At the foot of the hotel there is the superb and enormous beach of Grandes Playa, that well carries its name. It stretches out as far as the eye can see. The view on the natural Park of Corralejo dunes and its vulcanos is impressive. The beach chairs and the sunshades are available for an average fee of 2.5 pounds. The beach is supervised and showers and toilets are available.
