Hotel Bahia Principe Tenerife

The Bahia Principe Tenerife is located in the southern limit of the hotelier zone of Playa Paraiso on Costa Adeja, on the sea front, 7 miles away from Playa de Las Americas, on the southwestern coast of Tenerife. To reach the hotel from the Tenerife Sur airport located 18 miles away, allow a 45 minute drive. The hotel is about 56 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island.

Open in 2003, the Gran Bahia Principe Tenerife belongs to the Gran Bahia Principe Spanish chain. The clients of the Bahia Principe Tenerife have access to the facilities of the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje, located further down, with an access to the sea through a small rocky inlet. Children aged 2 to 12 years share a room with 2 adults for no additional fee in the all inclusive formula. Children are specially delighted at the Bahia Principe in a quality and well equipped mini-club. An original concept common to all Bahia Principe hotels, the Puerto Principe is a kind of village with its square embellished with a fountain, its façades housing bars (not included in the all-inclusive formula), snacks and shops, and a disco (La Fiesta), open from midnight to 8 o'clock in the morning. A tennis court, a raquetball court and a multi-sport field (basketball, soccer and volleyball) welcome sport lovers, while those enjoying fitness can choose the Bahia spa and the gym room which has the latest facilities.

This establishment, located toward the south, facing la Gomera island, is made up of three buildings of 4 levels each that house 220 junior suites. The pastel decoration (blue, pink and yellow) is inspired by the Latino-American style. The lobby is sumptuous, combining archways, fountains, stained glass windows, columns and chandeliers. The Bahia Principe Tenerife offers two soft water pools (open from 10.00am to 7.00pm in winter and untill 8.00pm in summer time) including one heated in the winter and one of 10,700 square feet.The towels are supplied for a fee of ?10 (£8). You access the main pool same way as you do the beach, on a gradual slope. The area surrounding the pool is called ''Hacienda Principe'', and it includes deckchairs, sunshades, showers and a pool for kids. A bar serves drinks and snacks from 10.00am to 6.00pm. The decoration is very fancy, like this church that looks more than real.

The 220 junior suites are spacious (470 square feet), very well equipped and nicely decorated. They have a lounge area with a convertible sofa, a satellite TV, a safe (?32 or £25 per day), direct air-conditioning with ceiling fan, a free mini-bar, a telephone with direct international access and a large terrace from where you can admire the view of the sea. Well decorated and very clean, the large bathroom includes a bubbling bathtub with handle and flexible shower, non separate toilets, a bidet, a double vanity unit, welcome products, handkerchiefs, telephone and a hair-dryer.

The clients are welcomed using the all-inclusive formula (except for imported alcohol) from 8.00am to 11.00pm (24 hours for water and sodas). As for meals, you can choose between the international ''Teide'' buffet or one of the 3 specialised à la carte restaurants (Spanish, seafood and Italian). Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10.30am, lunch from 1.00pm to 3.30pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. During the day, 3 bars serve snacks.

There is no beach in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but a free bus-ride gets you to the Playa de las Americas, 2.5 miles away, where you can find fully equipped beaches. From the attached Bahia Principe Costa Adeje's pool, that is part of the resort, a small road leads to a small rocky inlet, the Cala Principe, semi-private. It is has showers, sunshades, deckchairs and is covered by imported golden sand. You can refresh yourself at the Chiriguitos bar from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
