International StandardA hotel without organised activities or entertainment, the Miramar César is for those who want quiet holidays, with adapted facilities but no excess.
Along the beach of Sidi Mahrez , 3 miles from Midoun. Houmt Souk, the capital, is 10 miles from there. Djerba airport is accessible in about twenty minutes.
The Miramar César is located on the same grounds as the Paladien Djerba (the apartment-club belonging to the Miramar chain). The clients of the Miramar César have access to some of the services of the Paladien, like the club for children (4 to 12 years old, during summer holidays.)
There is no organised entertainment in this hotel, so it is a choice for relaxing holidays.
Opened in 1994, renovated in 2003, the Miramar César has a central building housing the reception area and restaurant, plus 8 two-storey structures forming patios. Quite overdone, the decor of the lobby combines marble, wood and worked metals. A cupola draped with fabrics hangs over the reception. Near the beach, in a space bordered with bougainvilleas and palm trees, you can find the swimming pool, 1,076 ft². It becomes small very quickly when people arrive. Teak lounge chairs and straw sunshades are spread around the swimming pool. You can borrow beach towels by paying a deposit.
The 111 rooms have two different styles of decor. The older ones have green wood furniture and a bathroom with tiles decorated with friezes. The newer ones have wrought iron furniture and a bathroom in Tunisian marble. Half of the rooms overlook the beach and the distant sea, the other half overlook the swimming pool or the gardens. Of average size (215 ft²), the rooms are extended by a terrace equipped with two lounge chairs. They are air conditioned and have direct phone and satellite television. The bathrooms have a bathtub, a hairdryer, and a basket of welcoming products.
Breakfasts and dinners are served buffet style in an elegant room. Unfortunately, the tables are very close together: At lunch, a snack-bar near the swimming pool serves salads, grilled foods or pastas. The buffets generally serve international recipes and Tunisian specialities (couscous, tagine, brik).
You get to the beach by going along a tiled pathway beyond the swimming pool. The furnished space is 985 ft long and 262 ft wide. Straw sunshades and plastic lounge chairs are available. Situated under a pergola, a nice snack-bar furnished with tables and wood benches. All water sports are charged extra.
