New in Djerba and already incontrovertible, the Radisson SAS is well-known for its decoration (chic and uncluttered), and its thalassatherapy centre (with many treatments), its service and its beach.

    location

The Radisson SAS is located on the seaside, at the west end of the touristic zone of Sidi Mahrez. It is only 6 miles away from Houmt Souk and 12 miles away from the airport (20 to 25 minutes by car).

    to know

The Radisson SAS is one of the addresses you must visit if you want to take a thalassoatherapy cure in Tunisia: its Athénée Thalasso centre (32,250 square feet on two levels) is in direct communication with the hotel. It includes a first floor dedicated to humid treatmenst (with, among others, 10 bathtubs for the different hydro massages, and 8 algae wrapping cabins), and a second floor dedicated to dry treatments (13 massage cabins, 1 of Shiatsu, 1 of reflexology...). Many treatments are offered, either à la carte or all inclusive: 6 classic cures (conditioning, slimness, arthritis-rheumatism, relaxation, light legs, special for the back), and 4 specific cures (bio-energy, draining, she and he beauty, jasmine moon).

    overview 8.25 /10

Opened in 2006, the Radisson SAS Resort and Thalasso offers a clean oriental art and luxury cosmopolitan mix. The apparent simplicity of the inside architecture reveals the richness of the decoration (oriental lamps, cushions, coffee tables of Tunisian inspiration...) through the lighting, which is different for each place and time of the day. 276 rooms spread on three floors around an interior garden are bathed by the atrium's soft filtered light. Outside, the relaxation area, at the edge of the large 11,800 square feet and small 3,200 square feet swimming pools, stimulates quietness and relaxation with its wooden deckchairs and beige mattresses: a foretaste of the thalassatherapy centre where a strong Asian and zen inspiration reign.

    accommodation 8.25 /10

The hotel has 20 suites (14 Juniors and 6 Ambassadors) and 276 rooms, all with air conditioning. From the 276 available rooms, 238 offer a view of the sea with a balcony, and the other 38 are on ground floor with a terrace, an access to the garden, and a view of the lagoon or the pam trees. Just like the whole hotel, the decoration of the rooms is very subtle. No loud luxury but a true refinement in the simplicity of the white walls and of the light marble floors, enhanced with functional or decorative elements (lamps, paintings, coffee tables...) blending modern and North African art. A dry fruits tray and bottles of mineral water are set in the rooms at the customer's arrival. As for the equipment, nothing is overlooked: satellite television (15 channels), direct telephone line (in the room, the bathroom and the toilet), safe, minibar and air conditioning. Bathroom are equipped with bathtub (whirlpool for the suites), shower, hair dryer, welcoming products, and separated toilets. Note: at night, the presence of night lights (that can be turned off if you prefer to sleep in the dark). The 40 rooms making up the first floor are non smoking, and all of them have a view of the sea.

    food and drink 8 /10

Breakfast and half board meals are served at the buffet of the Céramique restaurant (opened from 7.00am to 10.30am and 7.00pm to 10.00pm). A simple and contemporary interior decoration, a room that is extended by a wide terrace overlooking the sea. Headed by a French chef, the three à la carte restaurants offer a cuisine which is as diversified as the place itself. The Flamingo (open from 7.30pm to midnight) is an oriental restaurant with a decoration blending Tunisian style to the modern design of decorative elements. The animation is assured every night by a dancer and oriental musicians. The Zafferano (open from 12.00pm to 3.00pm and from 7.30pm to 10.30pm) offers a South Italian cuisine in a acidulous atmosphere, and the Turquoise (open from 12.00am to 5.00pm and from 7.30pm to 11.30pm), located next to the swimming pool and the beach, specialises in seafood. As for bars, you can choose between the muffled atmosphere of the Zafferano, the big lobby bar of the Mokka, the "Oriental Chill Out" music of the Flamingo or relaxation next to the swimming pool in the Turquoise bar.

    beach 7.5 /10

Located along the hotel, the fine white sand beach is one of the most beautiful in Djerba. Watched by a lifeguard, it has a slight difference in height, making it a safe place to swim for children. Plastic deckchairs, sunshades, coffee tables, showers and straw huts are all at the clients' disposal, who will also be able to cool off at the bar. The low difference in height and the position of the beach facing the wind make it an ideal place to start a water sport. These conditions have also pushed the Club Mistral and Skyriders to move there to offer windsurfing and kitesurfing classes (paying), and rent traditional water sports material.
