Hotel Golden Sands

The Golden Sands offers restaurant for the three meals. Very practical if you don't want to cook. It is better to choose this kind of accommodation if you already know Dubaï or if you have an intention to stay for a long time. Staying in the city center has important advantages : the shops and entertainment areas (cinemas, bars, restaurants) are all around. To reach the beach, there is one shuttle available once per day. You need to know that the entrance to the beach is not free. You have two choices as a beach: Metropolitan Beach (120 F) or the public beach of Jumeirah Beach Park (10 F). At the Metropolitan Beach, you will have water sports, but if you only want to sunbathe or swim, the public beach is a perfect choice.

The Golden Sands is a large residence of 7 floors built in 1990 and renovated in 2001. The small lobby with grey colored granite-like walls hosts a lounge corner where you can have a glass of wine with a pastry. There is an outdoor swimming pool of 50 m². Don't expect much from this pool which has a lot of chlorine and framed by a solarium with very few deckchairs and sunshades. There is one small fitness room. It has a sauna . A cash machine (accepting the Visa and Mastercard) stands at the entrance of the reception.

The residence includes 750 appartements in total. 82 are planned for 4 people. All have a small balcony. These large apartments have a lounge corner equipped with a low table and a sofa, a small bathroom with a shower stall and a small kitchen, very well equipped. You will find a washing machine, kettle, oven, hob, refrigerator and kitchenware. For a safe, you will pay around 200 F as an extra. Air-conditionning, direct telephone for international calls and satellite television are also available. The decoration is modest and simple with beige walls and clear wood. Sheets and towels are provided.

The restaurant buffet offers a selection of simple dishes in an attractive environment. Laminated wood tables and rattan chairs create a nice atmosphere. For lunch, pastas, meat or fish are served. Sandwiches and various pastries also are available. The prices are very reasonable. Allow 5 euros for snacks and 8 euros for a dish.
