At the end of Jumeirah beach, 19 miles away from the city center and 22 miles away from the airport. Expect 40 minutes for transfer to the city or to reach the airport.
Member of the "Leading Hotels of the World", the Jebel Ali is one of the rare hotels in Dubai that owns a shooting club. It has the advantage of a private marina and offers various water sports . This hotel is especially convenient for families. Children aged 3 to 12 will be hosted in a kids club. They can also enjoy the playground and their own private pool. Finally, the very extensive grounds have a self-contained water course where fish swim. Ducks waddle around the water. The kids will appreciate this as well ! A free shuttle to the city center is provided once per day.
A huge 10-storey building forming an arc facing the sea, the Jebel Ali was built in 1998 and renovated in 2000. It is located at the end of the construction zone in Jumeirah. Its extensive grounds include a 9-hole golf course . Leisure spaces are large and very well laid out : covered with grass and bordered by palmtrees, they offer hammocks to relax in a different style besides traditional deckchairs, mattresses and sunshades. The swimming pool for the adults is huge and forms a complete circle : it is closed off with a pool-bar. On the other side, there is a children's pool, whose mosaic base depicts an amazing bear head. For those who prefer to paddle in salt water, a large seawater swimming pool is available. The marble floored lobby is sometimes noisy, but you can have your drink in the backside lounges. Almond green and orange pastel colored sofas, beige colored walls decorated with discreet pictures : the decoration is far from overdone but its lack of character makes it a bit tasteless.
75% of the 406 rooms of the Jebel Ali have a view on the sea. The other ones overlook the golf course. If you would like to have a balcony, ask for a room with a view on the sea. These are the only ones that have a balcony. A third of the rooms are in 2-storey villas in the middle of a garden crossed by a water course. Despite their distance to the lobby, these rooms are ideal to stay in if you want some rest. All the rooms are large and decorated in a very pleasant contemporary style. Dressing tables in varnished wood, curtains and linens in check cloth create a warm atmosphere. The facilities consist of a telephone with direct access to international calls, a satellite television, air-conditioning, a minibar, a safe and a kit for tea /coffee.. In the bathroom, there is a bathtub, hair-dryer, bathrobes and toiletry products. The superior rooms also have a shower stall.
The Jebel Ali has 8 restaurants offering a range of cuisines. International cuisine or specialities from all around the world, you can eat sushi in the evening and a pizza the next day. The atmosphere of each restaurant is very different. Green and orange tones, ceramics tables in the Mediterranean restaurant "La Traviata"; bamboo furniture and cloth sunshades for the restaurant-buffet "La Fontana" ; red jars, rattan armchairs and calligraphics for the Asian restaurant. For lunch, there are many options. To nibble a salad, eat a sandwich, the "Coco Cabana" is located on the edge of the beach and offers a convivial environment. You may relax without ceremony under the beige colored cotton sunshades, with the sea in the background. If you would like to have a complete meal, " La Fontana" offers a la carte service as well. For lunch and dinner which are not included, allow around 15 to 30 euros for a meal.
The Jebel Ali beach is certainly one of the most beautiful ones in Dubaï. It is huge (800 m), and ideal to make sandcastles, jog in the morning or simply suntan. Those who prefer privacy can go to one of the two coves at the end of the beach. There is nothing negative to say about the place: A lifeguard is on duty till sunset. Deckchairs, mattresses and sunshades are available. Towels are provided . The level of the water is normal : so you can swim without any problems in the glassy sea which is around 28 °C. If you pay an extra fee, you can do waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. .
