The Metropolitan is found on Al Maktoum Street, close to the Creek and the city center's "shopping malls". It is not close to the sea, but a shuttle service is available for transfer to the Metropolitan Resort's beach. Two round trips are operated per day. This service is free of charge. The various restaurants found here, are another asset of this refined hotel. Finally, it is worth mentioning the panoramic pool where one can relax and while enjoying the view. A very good address if you wish to go shopping or to visit Dubai.

A tall cube-shaped 11-storey building, the Metropolitan Palace was built in 1997. Its lobby is one of the most beautiful among the city center hotels. A double marble staircase occupies the center of the atrium. The marble floor is embellished with a stylish design. A gigantic chandelier adds a touch of luxury to the decor. You will feel comfortable in this bright, modest and uncluttered environment. Two panoramic elevators take you to the pool on the upper floor. With a surface area of 1,300 square feet, it is bordered by a large solarium equipped with deckchairs, mattresses and sunshades. Towels are available free of charge. A bar completes the facilities around the pool. The place is very nice place to have a drink at sunset while enjoying the panorama.

All 212 rooms have a city center view. To get the best panorama, choose the rooms on the last two floors. The comfort is ultimate: the accommodation is optimal with a lounge area next to the window and soft armchairs to watch the satellite television. The floor has a thick carpet in pastel green color that matches the wallpaper. The blond wood furniture adds a warm and very pleasant tone to the decoration. The other amenities include air-conditioning, a minibar, a safe, and a direct telephone for international calls. In the bathrooms, nothing has been forgotten: hair-dryer, bathrobes and basket of toilet products are available.

The Metropolitan Palace offers 4 restaurants renowned both for their cuisine and their setting. Known for its originality, the Polynesian restaurant displays a warm exotic decor: parquet, creeper vines and rum barrels put you immediately in the mood. You may enjoy the raw fish, the ginger shrimps or the beef grilled on barbecue. Another cuisine, another decoration. The Italian restaurant has a fresh, convivial atmosphere - whitewashed walls and tables covered with red cloth. An ideal place to eat homemade pasta, osso bucco or tiramisu! Those who like Arabic specialities must try the Lebanese restaurant for tabbouleh, mezze and other really delicious recipes. Finally, the main restaurant offers buffet-style service at all three meals. There is an uncluttered environment there as well (tables with white cloth, ceiling decorated with friezes ) and quality food: salads, curries, meats with sauce, braised fish and delicious deserts will satisfy every appetite! Expect to pay around ?35 (£28) for a complete meal.
