Hotel Villa Orsula

The Villa Orsula is 500 m away east of the old city of Dubrovnik, facing the Adriatic and Lokrum island. For transfers from the airport, 12 miles away, allow 20 minutes.

The Villa Orsula benefits from the Argentina hotel's amenities ( swimming pools, tennis courts, sauna...) and is connected to the latter by an inside alley.

Built in 1939 out of the white precious stone from Brace island, the Villa Orsula once belonged to wealthy Croatians. Renovated in 1994, it is today a charming Venitian-styled hotel with large stone balconies and archway windows. It is surrounded by a pleasant terraced garden protected by old frayed cypresses. It has only 15 rooms distributed in a 3-storey building.

These rooms, spacious and comfortable, all open on the Lokrum island and the ramparts of the old city of Dubrovnik. They are equipped with an adjustable air-conditioning system, direct international telephone line, satellite television and a mini-bar. There is a safe at the reception. The only flaw could be the furniture, not always of a very good taste and sometimes old-fashioned. The bathroom has a bathtub and hair dryer.

The restaurant is of average size, with a simple decoration , light marble checked floor, curtains and net curtains for some refinement. In summer, the meals are very pleasant on the terrace shaded by virginia creeper protected by cable columns. Mediterranean and international cuisine.

The artificial beach at the foot of the hotel is of average size. It is no more than a small dock covered with large concrete slabs. It is good for tanning but inappropriate for children, for you use ladders to get to the beach and the difference in height in the water is very big. Deckchairs are available.
