Hotel Hilton Queen of Sheba

In the heart of the sea resort of Eilat, along the promenade that borders the sea. Allow about 5 minutes from the airport. The hotel is located close to shopping centres, bars, restaurants and all the nocturnal animations of Eilat.

The Hilton is the last palace built in Eilat ( November 1999) and it stretches out on the sea front. Located at the entrance to the marina, it has a less privileged location and access to the beach is a little more difficult. A large mall of 6500 m², with lots of small shops and restaurants is located underneath the hotel.

Antique sculptures, mosaics, gigantic columns, costumed staff... Once you get to the Hilton, you will find yourself immediately in the world of the Queen of Sheba. This 12 level hotel, with imposing architecture, offers original atmosphere and lots of details create an old Egyptian feel. Well appointed everywhere - 485 rooms, restaurants, lounge areas, show rooms and conference rooms or the large outdoors swimming pool, divided into three pools and decorated with cats spitting water. The vacationists will also find a mini-club on the spot, a pool for kids and a spa offering Dead sea mud and salt treatments. Despite everything, the space remains quite stuffy because of the number of the clients, especially around the swimming pool.

Decorated in the same spirit as the rest of the hotel, the rooms of the Hilton hotel offer undeniable Oriental charm. They are quite spacious except for the bathrooms (with a bathtub, welcome products, telephone and a hair-dryer) and offer all the up to date comforts: air-conditioning, TV, telephone, safe, mini-bar with kit for tea or coffee. The family rooms offer additional space and a small kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave and a sink. The only bad point in the picture: the very small size or the complete absence of balcony for most of the rooms. At least, you can choose one of the suites, with one or two rooms and a large terrace with jacuzzi. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Breakfast (usually Israeli style) and dinner are served buffet-style in a large dining room with sober and elegant decoration, with large bay windows. You will have the opportunity to try a wide selection of Mediterranean specialities and hot dishes cooked right in front of you. In the evening, you can also try the meat restaurant, offering a more private atmosphere and rich decoration. During the day, simple dishes, snacks and pastries are served in a large rotunda close to the swimming pool or in the lobby which has a great view of the Red sea. A Japanese restaurant is also open for dinner.

The semi-private beach is accessible on the sea promenade, under construction at the time of our visit. Noisy because of the loudspeakers offering continuous music, the beach is however well fitted out. Deckchairs and sunshades are available free of charge and lots of water activities can be enjoyed for an extra charge. Different bars and restaurants are available. The water here is very clear but there is not too much sand and the shore is pretty rocky: be careful if you have sensitive feet !
