Hotel Philoxenia Corfou

The Philoxenia is on the east coast of the island, in the resort of Ermones. The town of Corfu and the airport are next to each other about 9 mi away. The journey takes about half an hour in either direction. However, if you would like to visit the town centre, avoid rush hour, or you could well find yourself stuck in a traffic jam.

The hotel does not offer a shuttle service to the city, but there is a bus stop 1,640 ft away. And if you are looking for a beach, it is only 330 ft away

Built on the side of a hill, the Philoxenia is a small family hotel. The entrance of the establishment is surrounded by a superb garden planted with flowers typical of Corfu, matching the candy pink building. Natacha, the daughter of the owner, welcomes guests with a big smile at reception. The small lobby is rather dark, though. The hotel restaurant is on the right. Outside, there is a well-maintained garden leading to the swimming pool. There is a bar next to it. The pool is surrounded by deckchairs with sunshades, which can also be found on the lawn.

The Philoxenia has forty-nine rooms. They are not all decorated in the same colours, but all have a small balcony with table and chairs. You can choose between a sea or a mountain view. The room is quite simple, but there is plenty of light. There is a television, fee paying safe, air conditioning, an empty mini-bar and room service during the day. In the bathroom, hospitality products are set out on small shelves by the mirror, above the washbasin. The bathroom is not very big, but it nevertheless contains a bath.

The Philoxenia restaurant is just next to reception. Breakfast and dinner are buffet meals. You will feel very much at home thanks to the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. There are tables to eat inside or on the terrace outside. Lunch is taken by the swimming pool. The hotel organises a Greek evening once a week, as well as a barbecue.
