Hotel Les Orangers Beach Resort

The Orangers Beach is located in one of Hammamet's touristic neighbourhoods, halfway between the city's old Medina and it's new Medina. It therefore benefits from the best of two worlds, the historic sights of the old quarter and Hammamet's most modern district. The area is home to a plethora of restaurants and numerous forms of entertainment. Don't miss the marina, which is a lively place all year round. In the historic part of Hammamet you can visit the souk, various museums, or take a stroll through the streets of the city. There are several golf courses in close vicinity to the hotel (the Citrys: 45 holes, and the Yasmine: 27 holes). The streets that surround the hotel have a complete range of services on offer: a hair salon, grocery stores, handcraft boutiques, cafés and a couple of restaurants.

This chic luxury hotel bathes in a typically Tunisian atmosphere and affords both families and couples an ideal place to spend a few restful days by the sea. The only option available to guests at the Orangers Beach is the all-inclusive formula, which allows them to completely forget about their wallets, as for once the formula is truly all-inclusive. The fresh orange juice in the mornings, the cocktail that greats each arriving guest, and even the 15 minute massages are all free for residents of the hotel, horse-riding and nautical sports being the only activities they have to pay for. The hotel occupies a sprawling 30 acres of greenery, which provides each guest with a 50m² lot of perfectly trimmed garden space (orange trees, olive trees, jasmine) in a beautifully scented setting. This is what earned the hotel the "Hotel Jardin" award in 2008, which is an environmental distinction given by the National Esthetics Commission of Tunis (from the Ministry of the Environment). The Orangers Beach is the only establishment to have received it thus far. The hotel has also been rewarded for the cleanliness and upkeep of its beaches. If you can't live without a computer and an Internet connection, you'll be relieved to hear that Wifi access is available for free throughout the hotel, and that there are two computers available to guests. You'll also have free access to the shuttle service linking the golf course and the thalassotherapy centre, which is located in a hotel that belongs to the same group (The Orangers Group). If you're travelling with children, there is a mini-club in the hotel for kids aged 2 to 12, where they are placed in the capable hands of two professional instructors who will entertain them from 9:00am till 6:00pm. Children can sleep, play, or watch movies in an environment especially created for them. The guests who stay in the bungalows may choose to have their breakfast in their room or in their private little garden (it's included in the formula). There's nothing quite like enjoying a cup of coffee at breakfast while enjoying a direct view of the beach: true luxury! Another strong point of the hotel resides in the animations it puts on daily from 8:00am till 5:00pm and from 8:00pm till 11:00pm. Daytime animations focus on sports and outdoor activities, whereas the evening entertainment includes various shows and games, such as the election of "Miss Orangers".

The hotel was built in 1967 and has undergone numerous refurbishments. The last of these took place in 2008, with the transformation and renovation of the rooms, the main restaurant, the outdoor swimming pool, and the terraces. Despite this being a modern hotel, with new and renovated rooms, some parts of it have retained the essence of the original establishment, such as the very welcoming entrance hall, decorated in a pronounced Arab style, which is the oldest part of the hotel. However, the bathrooms could use a bit of renovating, as these are beginning to show signs of old age. The hotel has everything you can think of in terms of activities, games, entertainment, and fun. There is a playground for the exclusive use of the younger generation, a covered amphitheatre for entertainment, a basketball court, a football field on the lawn for kids, a professional horse-riding school, two tennis courts (free and well-lit), a designated games area on the private beach, and many other facilities. There are 3 swimming pools: one is covered and two are outdoor pools (one for adults and the other for children). The hotel is planning to build a seaside centre offering a full range of services and equipment dedicated to the body and well-being, as well as a fitness centre and a restaurant on the private beach. The hotel has earned several certificates that testify to its outstanding management, such as ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 22000 (food safety), among others. It is currently working towards satisfying the requirements of certificate ISO 14001 (environmental management).

The Orangers Beach has 380 rooms: 10 bungalows, 33 luxury rooms, 109 superior rooms, and 230 standard rooms. The latter are fully equipped and totally adequate for a comfortable stay. They have a double bed or two single beds, a small fridge, a phone, satellite TV, air conditioning, and a terrace with a view of the beautiful garden. The superior rooms are different in that they're bigger and afford a view of the sea. The deluxe rooms are even more spacious and include a small lounge area, as well as a safe and a hair dryer. Finally, the bungalows offer, in addition to the aforementioned, an LCD TV set, a CD player and radio, cable Internet connection, a small lounge with a fireplace, and a very chic private garden: this last item is what makes all the difference! The bungalows resemble little dream houses anchored in the sand, located practically on the beach! For optimal enjoyment of the view offered by these idyllic bungalows, the best is to recline in one of the family size hammocks you'll find in front of each one and admire the sea. Their design is very modern and they are equipped with all the amenities you could hope for. The remaining rooms are no less classy, as they are decorated in a locally-inspired modern and simple style and boast brand new furniture. Among the many details and advantages of the hotel, we particularly appreciated the fact that there was always a brochure explaining the services and amenities available to guests close at hand, in the form of elegant hand-bound booklets made of recycled paper.

The cuisine on offer is absolutely exceptional, both in terms of variety and of quality. The dishes served are truly exquisite. The traditional breakfast is varied and consists of freshly-pressed orange juice, homemade pastries (delicious and refined), fresh fruit, cereal, meat cuts, yogurts, and hot dishes (bacon and eggs, vegetables, pancakes, etc.). For lunch and dinner, guests are offered the same level of variety and quality, and they can pick their favourite among numerous dishes, most of which are prepared on the spot (show cooking) with fresh products (meat, fish, pasta, vegetables). The gastronomic offer at Orangers Beach comes with a variety of gravies, sauces, oils, vinegar and spices, and is sure to delight any lover of good food.

The beach at Orangers Beach is literally right in front of the building, so guests don't even have to cross a road to get to the sea. The private beach offers numerous deckchairs and sunshades (thatched and quite old) on which guests can relax (for free), but they can also head for the beach bar to enjoy a refreshing beverage or snack (sandwiches, pizzas, etc.). In this idyllic setting you'll also be able to participate in a game of beach volley or football, as the beach includes designated areas for these types of activities. The sand is fine and the sea is impeccably clean. Thanks to all of these assets, along with the general atmosphere of the hotel, the Orangers Beach was given a blue flag, is a distinction awarded by national authorities for a beach of outstanding quality.
