Saint John's is an unpretensious hotel better known for its prices and its location than for its service and comfort. A good idea.

The hotel is well located in the Vedado district a few minutes from the Malecon. Count about 20 minutes for transfers to the airport.

Saint John's is managed by the Horizontes chain. It is very popular with the French.
A lot of activities such as fitness, salsa, Spanish and merengue dance lessons free of charge from 10am to 6pm.

Built in 1957 and renovated in 1999, Saint John's is in a blue tower with 14 floors. Rather quaint aspect. We like the style of the lobby-bar, very old-style. The hotel has 88 rooms and on the top floor, a bar/disco offering a panoramic view over the Malecon. On a small terrace there is a swimming pool but no space for sun bathing.

The rooms are simple. The level of comfort is good but not great: air conditioning, satellite TV, direct telephone for international calls, small bathroom with bath, no fridge. Lovely view over the town and sea. 24 hour room service.

International, Italian, and Cuban cuisine. Buffet breakfast.
