Hotel Coral Beach

Located 16 miles south of Hurghada's centre and 9 miles away from the airport, the Coral Beach is one of the most isolated hotels in the seaside resort. But perhaps this will not last for some more time because the region is experiencing an unrestrained town-planning. The surrounding desert is indeed revealing massive construction sites here and there, still rare but already noisy.

The hotel customers are predominantly Frenchmen coming in summer, but also tourists of various nationalities in the rest of the year. A shuttle serves twice a day the centre of Hurghada and the airport.

Built in 1990, the Coral Beach spreads on 0.7mi² of land, which is mostly void of any vegetation. Representing a huge holiday village, it is composed of 292 bungalows, that is to say as much rooms. The sports facilities are numerous but do not seem to be properly and regularly maintained.

The 292 rooms and suites are all bungalows. Modestly decorated, even quite austere, they have minimum comfort and sometimes old-fashioned furniture. They are equipped with air conditioning (individual and quite noisy), television (20 channels), telephone (it is necessary to call through the operator), a refrigerator and a small terrace. The bathroom is equipped with a shower. A safe and a hair dryer available at the reception (free).

The main restaurant (350 place settings) serves international cuisine in buffet style, inside or on the large stepping terrace (200 place settings) installed only in summer. Also there are two restaurants a la carte : Italian and fish restaurants, and eight bars, some of which offer a fast food 24h a day.

Separated from the hotel through a vast and desolate terrain, the beach of the Coral Beach hotel is not very beautiful but it is big. It is thus possible to plunge into the quiet atmosphere, which is not always the case with the beaches of other hotels in the region. It is equipped with deckchairs, sunshades and folding screens useful in winter, showers and toilets. However, the sand is not so fine and, at some places, not very clean. You can enter easily into the water through an area cleaned of corals, but you should be careful as the sea bottom deepens sharply. Several different sports and water activities are offered.
