Hotel Mar Amantis I et II

Located on the beach, in the bay of San Antonio, 1 mile from the city centre. The capital, Eivissa, is 10 miles away and the airport is 11 miles away, about 25 minutes driving.

The Mar Amantis is divided into two different parts: the Mar Amantis I, located right on the verge of the sea and the Mar Amantis II, located across the street. Here you will find a pastry shop belonging to the hotel that prepare delicious cakes. Right in the front of the hotel you will find taxi boats to go up to San Antonio. The hotel is open from May to October.

Member of the Spanish hotelier chain Azuline Hotels, the Mar Amantis is divided into two different parts: the Mar Amantis I, built in 1964, located right on the verge of the sea and the Mar Amantis II, built in 1987, and located across the street. Both were renovated in 2004. The Mar Amantis I is a 5 level white building and the Mar Amantis II is a 3 level red building. The whole offers a total of 4 pools including one looking out on the sea, as well as two pools for kids. The Mar Amantis I is more calm. 94 inches deep, the pool offering a view of the sea is surrounded by small private solarium areas where you can easily lay down on a deckchair at the shadow of a sunshade if you want to read your vacation book, for instance. Showers are also available. A patio bar will serve you soft drinks from 10.00am to 7.00pm. All the animations are held at the Mar Amantis II, across the street. Here you will find three pools, well fitted out by a waterfall and a wooden bridge. The bar serves snacks from 10.00am to 7.00pm. You can play petanque or beach volleyball, and a stage welcomes evening shows when the weather is nice. Here you will also find the mini-club for children.

The 308 rooms of the Mar Amantis are suitable, covered by a tiled floor and decorated by an original painting. They are fitted out with a wooden furniture with a small desk and two separate beds. They include a satellite TV installed higher up with 16 channels (ask for the remonte control at the reception against deposit of ?5 or £4), a key safe (?14 or £11 a week plus a deposit of ?5 or £4), central air-conditioning and a direct telephone line. In return, there is no refrigerator. A large furnished balcony offers a stunning view on the bay of San Antonio. The bathroom is clean and well decorated, with a bathtub without a handle, but fitted out with a flexible shower, a bidet, a toilet and welcome products.

Located aside from the Mar Amantis I, the restaurant offers wonderful views of the sea through large picture windows. It serves as buffet breakfast from 8.00am to 10.15am, lunch from 1.00pm to 3.00pm and dinner from 7.00pm to 9.30pm. The Mar Amantis II pool bar offers snacks from 10.00am to 10.00pm. The gluttons should definitely try the homemade Ibiza pastries sold at the En Saimada pastry-shop, located on the other side of the road, at the level of the Mar Amantis II: they are delicious.

The Mar Amantis I overlooks a small crowded sandy and rocky beach, the beach of S'Estanyol. Not very windy and rather calm, it offers clear water, a real small lagoon! There is not a lot of equipment except for a few deckchairs, but maritime excursions are organised from the small dock. A small water sports centre offers different paying nautical activities like jetskiing, parascending, ringo, kayak, canoe and water-skiing.
