Hotel Playa Real

Facing the sea, in the bay of Talamanca, at 2 miles from the capital, Eivissa (you have busses available every hour, up to 11:10 PM). The airport is located 6 miles away, about 15 minutes driving on the highway.

Built in 1972 and lastly renovated in 2001, the Playa Real hotel welcomes a majority of German clients. A small team of three animators is also hired to enjoy the clients during the day and the evening. The hotel is open from May to October. To note: the welcoming quality of the staff and a very nice bar near the pool.

With a capacity of 245 rooms, the Playa Real hotel consists of a large 3 level building with elevators facing the beach. Right at the foot of the hotel you will see a pool (1,936 feet²) and grass areas planted with coconut trees where the clients are offered beach chairs and sunshades. The entry is through a large white hallway fitted out with false marble and a central fountain in an Arabic-Andalousian style. This 3 star hotel, conforming to the international regulations, specially offers an attire and a cleanleness that makes you feel comfortable right away.

Decorated in a standard local style (furnished in pine and rattan, white walls), the rooms offer the appropriate comfort with large bathrooms and an equipment that includes a television, a paying safe, adjustable air-conditioning, a mini-bar and direct telephone line. They are nice places to live in, despite the promiscuity of the balconies due to the backward-looking conception of the hotel. More than half of the rooms offers a view of the sea or the pool. The hotel also offers familial rooms for 2 adults and 2 children.

Located in a noisy and overloaded dining room, the restaurant offers a quite trivial decor, but it does have large windows towards the outside. If the weather is good and it is not that busy, you'd better stay at the tables located on the verge of the pool. The cuisine offers a buffet with classic international foods with barbecue for lunch. The drinks are chargeable and the water is strangely rationed.

The beach of Talamanca, where the hotel has been built, offers satisfactory bathing, excepting the seeweeds on the beach, that the municipality doesn't seem to clean up. In return, the beach offers a good overall condition due to the length of the beach and the water limpidness. Be aware that the beach chairs and the sunshades are chargeable on the beach but they are free around the pool that overlooks the sea.
