Hotel Celal Sultan

The Celal Sultan is located in the area of Sultanahmet, right by the Great Cistern and near the old town's main historical sites. Allow 25 minutes for the transfer to the airport (11 miles).

If you want a room with a view over the Saint-Sophie Mosque, request a standard De Luxe room.

Opened in 1996, the Hotel Celal Sultan is a set of two ancient Ottoman town houses renovated with taste. The façade is painted white and highlighted in grey. The interior decor is reminiscent of a cottage (wooden furniture, small rooms, exposed beams...). Next to the small lobby there is the hotel bar and its four bar stools. The top floor terrace has a nice view over the entrance to the Bosphorus, the Saint-Sophie Mosque and the Topkapi place, which are close by. In summer it is arranged with nice garden furniture so you can have a drink while enjoying the sun and the view.

Like the communal areas, the 34 rooms are finely decorated. Wood dominates, from the floor to ceiling. They have air conditioning and double glazing. They have air-conditioning and satellite television ,a telephone with direct line, mini-bar and hairdryer. Most of the bathrooms have a shower cubicle. Some of the rooms on the first floor have a bathtub but, in these rooms, the buildings opposite block the view and make the room darker. Room service can provide sandwiches 24 hours a day.

Breakfast is served buffet-style in a country-style restaurant room. You can have your breakfast and dinner in another room, with more refined decor. The menu offers a choice of some twenty Turkish specialities. You can also choose from snack menu (salads, sandwiches, omelettes...).
