Advantages:

The hotel is very well located.
Low prices with basic comfort, in the heart of Sultanahmet.

The catering is one of the weak points of the hotel.

A charmless but functional hotel which has the major advantage of being almost on the esplanade of Sultanahmet and a stone's throw from the small restaurants of this area.

The Hotel Ferhat is situated in the heart of Sultanahmet, a few feet from the Blue Mosque and other sites of the historical centre of Istanbul. The airport is 11 miles away. Allow about 25 minutes for transfers.

Despite the immediate proximity to the Sultanahmet sites, the views from the rooms are totally uninteresting.

Built in 1991 and renovated in 1997, the Ferhat is an austere modern 4-storey building (with lift). Its large lobby is dominated by a staircase leading to a mezzanine. To relax after a day of sightseeing, have a drink at the bar or take tea in the Turkish salon, which is decorated with false windows and artificial flowers.

The 64 rooms of the hotel offer a basic level of comfort. They have air conditioning, satellite television, a small fridge and a telephone with direct line. The small bathroom has a shower cubicle and toilet.

The hotel's restaurant serves very simple breakfast buffets. For lunch and dinner you can choose one of the dishes on the small set menu. Do not expect room service to provide food outside restaurant opening hours: it only provides drinks.
