Just built, the Sheraton Cesme is a 6-storey complex (comprising 373 rooms) set on a magnificent beach 1 mile from the heart of Ilica. Although the enormous grey building is an eyesore that plagues the bay, the layout and interior decor have been designed to accommodate residents in a classy setting. The lobby has no fewer than twenty lounges fitted in leather, marble and carpet. Each wall has reproductions of art works, wall frescoes and trompe l'oeils. In terms of leisure, there is a very full programme on offer in the spacious thalassatherapy centre.

Rooms measuring 301 ft² in beige, gold and mauve colours, with large balconies, 80% of which overlook the sea. They have a bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer, telephone, satellite television (20 channels), a free safe, and adjustable air conditioning and 24 hour room service.

The main restaurant offers buffets in a huge space overlooking the pool and sea. The variety of dishes is remarkable (8 hot dishes), with international cuisine, several Turkish specialities, and the chance to try French wine. The Italian restaurant offers an a la carte menu.

A beautiful beach with fine, clean sand, stretching over 1 mile. One drawback: you have to turn your back on the hotel to appreciate it fully. Or contemplate it from the private snack bar open 24 h on the top floor, which has a sublime panoramic view.
