Hotel Melia Juan Dolio

Established in the heart of Juan Dolio's tourist area (middle scale), south of the Dominican Republic on the Caribbean coast, the Melia Juan Dolio is located 37 miles from the capital city of Santo Domingo (within 50 minutes). Las Americas international airport of Santo Domingo is located 22 miles away (half an hour).

Because of the services available and the quality of the equipment, the Melia is surely one of the best hotels in Juan Dolio. However, its architecture, without any particular charm, reminds one of the 1970s and its beach is certainly not the most beautiful in the Dominican Republic. Nevertheless, in Punta Cana or Bayahibe, two major tourist areas in the south of the island, the sea has another face. The plus of the Melia Juan Dolio: its location, within an hour's drive from Santo Domingo.

The Melia Juan Dolio, built in 1997, is a U-shaped building of six floors, with 260 rooms. The advantage of this mid-size hotel lies in its friendly nature and the quality of its facilities (spa, beauty salon...). The services (swimming pools and restaurants) are near the rooms. On the other hand, do not expect a sublime environment.

The Melia Juan Dolio has the advantage of spacious rooms overlooking the garden or the sea. All well equipped, conforming to international standards, they have a marble bathroom with a bathtub and a hair dryer, air conditioning, a telephone for international dialling, satellite TV and a safe (extra payment).

The four restaurants of the hotel offer quality cuisine. Especially the gourmet restaurant (not included in the package). The buffet restaurant, "Carey", the grill restaurant, "Georges" and the a la carte restaurant ,"Mediterrano" - all three are included in the package.

The private beach of the Melia is quite large, bordered by coconut trees and equipped with deckchairs and sunshades. However, the colour of the sea is far from turquoise blue. But the water sports centre offers many activities.
