Hotel Phuket Orchid Resort

The hotel is installed in the bay of Karon Beach. It takes 20 minutes to go to Phuket Town and 45 minutes to go to the airport of the island.

The Phuket Orchid Resort is equipped with a fitness room since 1st November 2007. The hotel does not have a private beach, as the majority of the hotel in Thailand, as the beaches are public. However, you can take advantage of Karon Beach installations where a fee is required.

The lobby of the Phuket Orchid Resort sets the tone: its decoration is very heavy and colourful. Four huge columns surround the reception with a golden desk situated in the middle of the lobby. A small Buddhist temple overhang it. A few plants, decorative jars as well as beautiful fresh frangipani flowers fill the place.
The establishment has three big swimming pools. The first covers a big area of the hotel and is surrounded by a nice garden. A huge Buddha head reigns in its centre. In addition, the basin is crossed by many small wooden decks. The space is nice and would be more comfortable if the beach chairs were not made of plastic.
The Orchid Spa of the establishment has a massage room with four separate beds, where three beds allow to perform traditional Thai massages. An area near the pool allows to get a massage below a Balinese style awning.

The 524 rooms of the hotel are divided in seven 4-floor buildings. All superior rooms on the ground floor have a common pool by their terrace. The standard room is very simple but comfortable. The pastel green tone dominates, accompanied by the fair wood of the furniture. Big bay windows allows a beautiful light in. The balcony has a big area and two chairs and a coffee table made of plastic. There is: TV, air conditioning, filled minibar, direct international line and 24 hour room service. The hairdryer is installed in the bathroom which has an opening on the room. Welcome products are also available. Note that the prices of the drinks from the minibar are the same prices as in the supermarket.

Despite the number of rooms, the Phuket Orchid Resort offers only one proper restaurant, if you do not consider the pool's bar. Bad point. The Bayon offers either a buffet or a la carte meals depending on the season. The cuisine theme changes regularly but remains mainly international and Asian. All furniture is made of wood, but it would need some renovation.
