Hotel Kontokali Bay

The Kontokali Bay is located in the town bearing the same name. The city of Corfu is 4 mi away, as is the airport, since the two are next to each other. Allow no more than fifteen minutes to make the journey in either direction. However, if you wish to go to the centre, beware of rush hour, when the streets are often jammed.

The hotel offers a shuttle service to Corfu. Note, however, that there is a bus stop only 656 ft away. The bus runs about every half an hour. While you're waiting, you can leave a note in the guestbook at the reception.
The little ones can meet up at the kids' club from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It looks like a small village and it is located far enough from the other guests so as not to disturb them.
For your information, the hotel is open from April til October.

From the outside, the building does not give much away. A large grey façade welcomes new arrivals, definitely a down point for the hotel. However, once inside, your opinion will automatically change. The vast reception hall benefits from wonderful natural light thanks to the large patio doors, open to the outside. They also offer a lovely view of the marina and the bay of Kontokali. The furniture of the lounge areas is pleasantly spread out over the whole lobby, but manages to remain discreet. You will find one of the hotel bars behind the reception. It has a large terrace where you can enjoy the view. The surrounding gardens are quite simply beautiful and well-kept. Then there is the perimeter-overflow seawater pool, surrounded by deckchairs and parasols. Although it is there for safety reasons, we wish that there wasn't any Plexiglas around the perimeter-overflow pool.
As far as relaxation is concerned, there is the Kontokali Bay Spa. No less than 9 treatment rooms await you. And that's not all, there is also: a room for couples, a freshwater pool, a heated pool, a jacuzzi and two saunas, etc. The masseuses use Phytomer products.

No less than 259 rooms are available at Kontokali Bay. They are divided into three categories: basic standard, suites and family rooms. There are a lot of them, but they are all as pretty as one another! A spacious room, with simple but very elegant decoration: the shades of beige go so well with the view of the sea. On your arrival, a bottle of wine and some water will be laid out on the coffee table of the lounge area. To be drunk with moderation of course, and outside, on the large balcony. As for the "lucky few" accommodated in the suites, you will even have your own private pool. In the basic standard rooms, you will find all the necessary facilities: a television, a free safe, air-conditioning, a mini-bar, a direct line for international calls and room service. In the white marble bathroom, there is a beautiful eye-catching sink opposite the bath tub. Hospitality products are at your disposal.

Your breakfast and dinner will be taken care of in the main restaurant. This large hall swarms with people at the busiest times of day and you don't really know where to start. The restaurant operates as a buffet. It is divided into small units set next to one another, which makes it difficult to walk around. International cuisine is served at the restaurant. However, theme nights are organized: Greek, Italian, etc. Moreover, it is impossible to have any privacy as there is too little space between the tables. The large bay windows nonetheless offer a beautiful view of the gardens. If you wish for a quieter setting for dinner, go to the Candlelight, the hotel's à la carte restaurant. Finally, you can have lunch at the Taverna. This restaurant is located by the beach and offers a barbecue every day.

Like all the beaches in Corfu, Kontokali's is public. However, as it is only possible to access the beach via the hotel, there are not many people on the beach who are not guests. As it is located below the hotel, you will have to use the lift or stairs to get to the beach. More or less "divided" into two parts, due to the central position of the restaurant, the first part is a little small but the second is wider. It is a shame, however, that the deckchairs are lined up so close to one another with so little space between them! As for your safety, rest assured: swimming seems to be quite safe as the water is shallow and relatively still.
