FamilyBuilt facing the Rebak island, the Pelangi Beach has been open since 1989 and has a beautiful location on the edge of Pantai Cenang beach. The architect chose to recreate a true traditional Malaysian village, with small units scattered in the hotel's garden. The building seems to be much more adapted for families than for couples.
To the West of the island of Langkawi, the Pelangi Beach is only 5 miles from the airport, or a fifteen minute drive. The capital Kuah is opposite the hotel, on the East of the island. It is a good half hour trip to get there.
Even if the hotel has several restaurants, don't hesitate to leave the hotel to discover the surrounding buildings nearby. The hotel's clients come mainly from England and Australia.
The hotel's 331 rooms are distributed in small units built in the form of chalets. Each room has either a little terrace, for those on the ground floor, or a balcony, for those in the floors above. Both are furnished with two chairs and a low plastic table. The inside cream and burgundy tones match very well with the wood of the chalets. The place is spacious and very elegant. There is nothing to say about the equipment: safe, television, air conditioning, full mini-bar with the essentials for coffee and tea, a direct line for international calling and room service 24 h a day. The bathroom is equipped with either a bathtub or a shower. You will find a hair dryer, bathrobes and welcome products.
Originally, there was only a lake. The hotel was thus designed around it. All the infrastructures were built in wood, that is why you will discover, upon arriving, enormous wooden framework sheltering the hotel's entrance hall. The latter joins the reception area (on the right) of the entrance, the various shops, but also the lounge bar hosted by a Filipino orchestra every evening. In the background, you can make out the hotel's first swimming pool. Its round shapes perfectly fits the surrounding plant life sites. Several deckchairs and sunshades are scattered around the pool. The second swimming pool is a little more off-centered on the right. The latter has a water slide for children.
The Teratai Spa is built next to the beach. It is made up of seven treatment rooms including three single and four designed for couples. The location offers a large range of treatments: aromatherapy, reflexology, massages, etc.
The restaurants of the Pelangi Beach offers various and varied cuisines. The Spice Market is open for all three meals of the day. It operates as a buffet in the morning and evening, but a la carte for lunch. Like its name indicates, the Niyom Thai is a Thai restaurant, open only for dinner. Finally, for a relaxed atmosphere, come to the Tepian Cenang for a barbecue facing the beach. You can choose between a meal inside in a well air-conditioned dining room, or on the terrace facing the sea under the stars !
The Pelangi Beach's beach is one of the quietest beaches on the island. Located all the way at the end of Pantai Cenang, clients are not disturbed by passers-by and peddlers. Calm and serenity reigns. Nevertheless, construction work has just started nearby.. The sunshades here consist of true umbrella pines. Deckchairs are lined up along the seashore on the entire length of the hotel. You can surely enjoy a nice siesta without being disturbed!
