Hotel Beau Rivage

The Beau Rivage is located at the verge of water in Pyla, on Larnaca bay, 5 miles away from northern downtown. This is not a real agglomeration, but it is a seaside area widely populated by hotels. To reach the hotel from Larnaca airport (located 8 miles away), you will need 20 minutes.

Stay away from the rooms that don't overlook the sea and those that have not been renovated yet. A large road splits the landscape. The surrounding areas of the hotel are sad looking because the fields open to the farther constructions serving as decoration. The hotel is mostly populated by French, than Russians, German, English, usually there for family vacations.

Built in 1983, the Beau Rivage offers a total of 188 rooms including 58 bungalows and 5 mini-suites. The main hotel is a massive 5-level building. Most of the facilities have been renovated in 2001. The hallway, very spacious, is welcoming and bright: elegant, comfortable sofas, warm colours, large terracotta vanity units and green plants. Different monumental amphorae serve as large pot-bellied columns, which provide a strange character. Different panels advertise different trips offered by the agencies. Outside, the large pool has an area of 4,842 feet². Different rocks have been installed here, so that it limits the space. There are also a 430-ft² pool and an indoor 904-ft² pool, with the advantage of being located in a fully glassed-in building. The snack-bar right next to it, has an animation team, between the pool and the sea. Large lawn areas planted with trees, covered by beach chairs, get you up to the beach. As for sports and leisure, there are lots of activities, facilities and an animation schedule which will delight the amateurs. We should mention the sports room, completely renovated, that offers nice facilities.

The standard rooms are quite spacious but the view they offer is unequal: sea (very nice landscape), or inside the property (areas under construction). You will be disappointed by the stains on the carpet in the hallway if you want to access the private zones. Lots of bungalows are located between the sea and the main building. Ideal place for families because they are fitted out with 4 beds. The rooms are cosy and simple. You should know that the quality of the rooms is different depending on their date of renovation. You may have some surprises concerning the finishing touches. All the units are equipped with satellite TV (including the reception that can be very bad-looking), a rentable safe, adjustable air-conditioning, filled mini-bar, a large balcony and a nice bathroom with bathtub, soap and hair dryer.

All three meals are served buffet style, where you can try Cypriot specialities and an international cuisine (7 different buffets). Different thematic dinners are offered (Italian, Cypriot, barbecue...). Large bay-windows overlook a nice bright large room, where breakfast is served from 7 AM to 10 AM (very few choices!). The restaurant overlooks the first floor sundeck, very nice. The fancy decoration of the large main restaurant is joyful, entirely yellow and blue. For an outdoor lunch, the best option is the a la carte snack. The hotel also has 3 bars, including one close to the beach. Lunch and dinner from 1 PM to 3 PM and then from 7 PM to 9:30 PM.

The large lawn areas will lead you right to the beach where beach chairs and sunshades are paying. Panorama of the large Larnaca bay. The water is clear, the sand is grey, with a few pebbles. You cannot say the setting is great, but the supervised beach does have the blue flag proof of cleanness. Tranquility reigns. Numerous water activities are offered. If you want to go diving, speak to the management of the hotel that will lead you to the right aquatic club.
