The hotel is located on the edge of the water on Larnaca bay, 4 miles away from downtown. No real traffic in this area, but an artificial seaside place: shopping centres, restaurants, bars and lots of hotels on one side and the other of the street bordering the sea. To reach the hotel from Larnaca airport (located 7.5 miles away), you will need 15 minutes.

Built in 1983 and renovated in 2000, the Golden Bay hotel is a luxury establishment with 193 rooms and suites. The outside 8-level building, a little too massive, is not really far from the big road that runs parallel to the bay. The large indoor spaces are warmly decorated (ornaments, Dutch-style paintings) and create an intimate atmosphere. The modern furniture combines the most contemporary shapes, the colours are bright, the light, the exotic plants are ever-present. Outside, the beautiful lagoon pool, the panoramic sundeck - entirely made of wood- of the main bar, the field planted with trees facing the sea, the restaurant with Cypriot specialities in a loose stone decoration create different pleasant universes (even if they are artificial) and always elegant. The sports facilities will not disappoint those who love water sports. The animation schedule, quite soft, respects the tranquility of all. For the most active people, they can enjoy the outdoors at night until very late.

The standard rooms are spacious and comfortable, the decoration is discreet and elegant. The view of the sea and the gardens (direct or indirect) is nice. The view inside the property is however, disappointing. All the rooms are carpeted and equipped with satellite TV, direct telephone line, adjustable air-conditioning, a well-filled mini-bar, a large balcony, or a sundeck and a spacious bathroom with bathtub and towels for the pool. The 18 mini-suites with a large outdoor wooden sundeck have a jacuzzi, 6 large suites (at the 5th and 6th level) offer a living room area and an unique panorama of the bay. 24 hour room service.

The hotel offers four restaurants and the same number of bars. The meals are served buffet-style - fresh and delicious. The good quality cuisine is of local, French or international inspiration. Different thematic evenings (Italian, Asian, North-American, Mediterranean buffets, flambe cuisine, gala dinner) are organised to entertain dinners. Breakfasts are served on the large wooden panoramic sundeck, with a view of the sea and the gardens. For lunch and dinner, a huge room (650 seats) is decorated like a grotto and a waterfall.. Easy-going successful ambiance and large outdoor sundeck to enjoy the sun. You can also order a la carte meals in the same place. There are two additional possibilities to enjoy an a la carte menu: a French restaurant, in a more formal room (round tables, white tableclothes, attentive service), a Cypriot tavern - with deceptive decor - serves great mezzes. At the edge of the gardens and lawns of the hotel, you will find the large beach, protected against the wind and waves by two docks located 330 feet offshore. The bay view is nice, the site is peaceful, the water is clear - but the sand is grey (and fine). A snack-bar serves light meals. A small private company offers a large variety of water sports while the hotel is in charge of your diving trips.
