Well locatedAs one of the very first casino-hotels of the avenue, the Flamingo hotel is a true institution on the Strip. Its crowning glory is its cool and tranquil tropical gardens, where pink flamingos nonchalantly strut about and the new 'sexy' Flamingo Go guest rooms are also well worth a mention as they are amazing and ideal for a stay in Vegas.
The Flamingo hotel enjoys a prime location right at the centre of the Strip, opposite Caesar's Palace and next to the Imperial Palace. Thanks to its central location, guests at the hotel can enjoy all the surrounding casino-hotels without having to walk too far, and the monorail station is also nearby.
The Flamingo hotel was one of the very first hotels on the Strip and was built by Benjamin Bugsy Siegel in 1946. It still attracts tourists today, as its exotic garden and pink flamingos are a unique Las Vegas attraction.
This is one of the very first casino-hotels on the Strip. Built in 1946, the Flamingo still offers its guests pleasant and exotic surroundings, including a vast tropical garden which is home to pink flamingos, ducks, turtles, swans, birds and koi carp and which makes for a truly relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere. The Flamingo is the ideal place to come if you're looking for a little coolness and tranquillity amid the hustle-and-bustle of the Strip, particularly as the hotel boasts no fewer than three swimming pools, including one with a slide. Waterfalls, palm trees and wooden cabanas grace the surrounding pool areas. Guests can also relax in one of the cabanas equipped with an LCD television and a refrigerator, although this will require you to book in advance. The tropical spa offers various treatments and massages, as well as a jacuzzi, a hammam and a sauna, whilst more active guests will be pleased to hear that the hotel also has three tennis courts, a volleyball court and a gym. Don't forget the casino and concert halls, either!
The 3,545 rooms are split into two different types, namely, the older and less stylish Deluxe rooms with their brown and beige decor, and the more modern Flamingo Go rooms. The Deluxe rooms have traditional wooden furniture and the decor, although cosy, is less showy than that of the brand new, beautifully-decorated all-pink Flamingo Go rooms. 'Sexy' is the only way to describe these 70s-style rooms, where the decor, despite the seventies touch, is intended to be ultra-design. Technology is everywhere here, from the flat-screen television, iPod docking station, CD/DVD player and Wi-Fi Internet connection to the fabulous television screen built into the bathroom mirror. The lights in the bathroom also change colour, which adds to the element of surprise. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and spacious, which is another bonus, so go on, indulge yourself, book a Flamingo Go room!
The hotel boasts no fewer than 7 restaurants, serving a wide variety of cuisine, from steaks and burgers to Japanese, barbecue and Caribbean cuisine, not forgetting the unmissable buffet. The buffet restaurant itself overlooks the swimming pool and the hotel grounds, where the pink flamingos live, and benefits from a large curved bay window which allows you to take full advantage of the view. The chefs at the Japanese restaurant, Hamada's, prepare the dishes in front of you and you can even go for the full authentic experience and eat at low Japanese tables, sat cross-legged on a tatamis. In the summer, those who like to enjoy the great outdoors should head to the Beach Club near the pool for lunch, or perhaps Margaritaville, the hotel's symbolic restaurant (named after the famous song by country music singer Jimmy Buffet), is more your style. The latter is located right on the Strip, and its exotic, colourful and exuberant decor will strike you right away. The cuisine here is Caribbean with an American twist; there is grilled fish, seafood and Mahi Mahi as well as cheeseburgers with Hawaiian butter sauce. Margaritaville also has no fewer than 5 bars and two patios!
